“The hotel is in a great location for all the amenities within the city. It is a light and contemporary hotel, and where some hotels in this style can lack warmth, this doesn't. The Staff are friendly and helpful, the 'check in' was quick and hassle free, ” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.

“The City Inn is in a very nice section of town. It felt very safe walking day and night. Lots of nice restaurants in the area. The walk to/from the train station was easily manageable even with luggage since it is almost entirely a pedestrianized area. The hotel room was very clean and well kept - although the bed could've been a bit more comfortable. The hotel held our luggage for us after check out so we could go to the BM&AG (art museum) which was also within walking distance. The hotel staff helped with directions and offered suggestions for connections for bus and train routes to area attractions. A bit on the pricey side, but every convenience was offered so we felt it was worth it.”

“What car-park to use + the fact that it was possible to have a discount for parking in the multi-story next door.”

“Having booked our room online, using our debit card, we were surprised to find that the hotel did not accept debit cards as a method of payment. It was fortunate that we happened to have sufficient cash on us to pay the room rate in advance, otherwise we would have been in severe trouble! We do not use credit cards. The basket of snacks in our hotel room was not stocked fully - some of the items on the list were missing when we checked in.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.

“We booked room only and if we had have booked bed and breakfast it would have been cheaper and we were only told this when we paid our bill.”

“Could have been excellent had the bed not been so hard, had to sleep on folded quilt. Neither of us could sleep at all and suffered pressure point bruising. Requested a quiet room but placed in corner nearest 3 point road junction, move request satisfied.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.

“Would have preferred a larger room as previous visit, did request the same room number when booking but the request was ignored. In general Im happy with the stay at the hotel and will return in the future as the staff were very helpful and friendly.”

“only one person on reception at 5:00 pm saturday night, who took forever to deal with people. although first impressions last this was countered by the cleanliness and modernity of the rooms. if the check in staff were anything to go by we were glad to have no further contact with any other hotel staff”

“Good central location. We were attacted by the mention of a fitness room but did not actually use it. Similarly because we were meeting friends in the city centre did not eat in the City cafe”
