  • Clean and cheap
  • Facilities need updating and internal redecorating is required - it was something out of the '70s

“Meals were not available as the kitchen floor had just been re-tiled, which was disappointing. All internal decoration was outdated and wallpaper was peeling off. Bathroom was a little grubby and unappealing. The saying is true you get what you pay for!”

  • The bed was clean and quite comfortable
  • The window looked out onto the street and I couldn't lock it properly so didn't feel secure.

“I stayed for two nights with a friend. On arrival we were informed that the kitchen was being refurbished and so there would be no food available for the duration of our stay, that included breakfast. We were first offered a twin room which had a folding door to the shower-room/WC, only the door didn't fold or shut properly. The shower had no door only an old curtain which didn't fit properly, but the shower didn't work anyway. When my friend made herself a coffee the milk in the carton was off. We complained and were offered two single rooms. Mine was adequate though needed decorating. On the second day the drinks had not been replenished so I had to go out without my early morning cuppa. My friend's lock fell off the door when we were about to leave for the first evening, the proprietor had to break in and she had to leave the door on the latch for the rest of the stay. The shower in her room had no hot water. Her window also didn't shut properly and also looked out into the street. When we were ready to leave we got our cash ready to pay our seperate bills, and we were informed that payment had been made from my credit card - the number had been requested 'for security', this was also on a sign in the 'lobby' of the hotel. This meant my friend had to pay me back and also my account was further indebted than I knew about.”
