• The log cabin style rooms were lovely and a nice change.

• The hotel had a very welcoming atmosphere chalet style with great open bar/lounge area

“Very welcoming friendly hotel with great staff
Well stocked bar with excellent malt whisky collection and real log fire, good food in the restaurant and excellent choice for breakfast including butteries North East speciality pastries.
Rooms are clean and comfortable - showers a bit disappointing (not v powerful/hot) but functional. Stunning setting, on the whole, really good value and well worth a visit.”

• kareoke kept us awake

“we were greatly looking forward to this hotel, as it looked so good on the Web site. Unfortunately, it was disappointing. I think they had a staff shortage, which meant most of the menu was off. The staff were not particularly welcoming or on the ball. and being kept up half the night by a karaoke was the final straw. I really was disappointed!”
