“Very convenient hotel and nice staff. It would be good for them to provide 1st rate dinner. We avoided it because last time was so awful. Having said all that our stay was still very enjoyable.”

“Reasonably comfortable. I ended up paying '55 for a single room so it was acceptable for that price, however the hotel wanted '85 if booked direct. This definitely would not have projected good value for money. 3 bulbs out in the room. Cleanliness was just about average. Facilities in the room were OK. A wireless network was picked up by my laptop but the hotel didn't seem to know anything about it. Breakfast was good though!”

“Right next to the train station. A lively public bar and also seperate residents bar. Make the effort to get up in time for breakfast. Fears about the noisey petrol station never materialised. Quite an old hotel run by very friendly and efficient staff. There is something nice about creaky floorboards isn't there? I didn't explore thelocal area that much but there was obviously plenty to see and do. Belper is an interesting place to visit.”

“The bed was so uncomfortable it was hard to get a decent night's sleep (2 nights!) all the springs had gone and it was awful. The smell of the smoke from downstairs stunk the room out in the morning. The window didn't open and shut properly, there was a block of wood to keep in open. When you did open it, it was very noisy from the service station directly opposite our window.”
