  • Central location. Good quality furniture and furnishings.
  • No parking. Restaurant not open. Noisy from a party somewhere inside the hotel.

“The room was very nice and looked out over the front of the hotel but well sound proofed for outside noise. but inside there appeared to be a party going on that went on into the small hours. It was New Year's Eve, but this was not just late night revellers. We could hear music from about 4pm in the afternoon.
the food in the bar was good, but we were disappointed that the restaurant was not open as we had chosen to stay in a hotel that could provide a good evening meal rather than try to find somewhere in Bath that night.

A soap dish in the bathroom would have been a good thing, but otherwise the bathroom facilities were good and clean.

We enjoyed the stay.”

  • Welcoming
  • Small tv - noisy clock - lack of (notice of) onsite parking

“The email confirmation provided directions to the hotel, but did not state that there was no on-site parking (or free), a factor which would have led me to look for alternative accommodation.

Decor looks a bit tired and could do with an overhaul.

The price is probably too high for the overall standard of facilities for this hotel, whose rooms need upgrading without losing the overall charm of the front of house.”

  • Bed linen was clean.
  • For the Star rating of this hotel, the room was dull and dreary with ghastly cheap furniture. It had no refinements.

“We were booked into your hotel for 3 nights but upon viewing the room decided one night was plenty. Receptionist did not bother to tell us how to get to room etc. We were left to find lift and room ourselves. The corridors were a maze of ups and downs with stairs all over, and there were guests humping cases up and down steps. The view ( ha ha ) was appalling.. looking out onto windows (very close )of another building.
Despite the fact that we had booked a few weeks in advance, when we said we were unhappy with room, we were offered apparently a ''better'' room. My question is, at the time of booking why werent we allocated a ''better'' room. I expect rooms with a poorer aspect if bookings are made very late. On our way out we had occasion to see into other rooms with open doors. All were better presented than ours. The furniture was like stuff people had in the war time.
Rooms was clean and sheets clean. Room had been valeted to the best of maids ability so no criticism of her work.”

  • Located in the city centre.
  • There were not enough staff on duty for breakfast on sunday.

“Apart from the lack of staff at breakfast on sunday, the hotel and its staff were satisfactory overall.”

  • Basic but very well presented
  • Tight for space to use wardrobe.

“I could not fault anything to do with the staff, particularly on the check-in desk. The online forms showed me everything I needed to know about the hotel and its facilities. It would have rated excellent with a better layout in the room to help use of the wardrobe.”
