“This is a standard Hilton hotel with all facilities. It's supposedly a five star hotel even though I can't tell what gives them the star extra. The location is not good as you have to walk 20-30 minutes to the lively restaurant area of Amsterdam (Leidseplein) and then further 20 minutes to the central station. If you're in Amsterdam for a weekend and want to see the city I'd rather stay at another hotel, but if you want privacy and a nice garden this is a good choice.”

“Great hotel when the weather is good for walking. As the cold sets in, you have to be prepared. To bundle up and fight the wind. Elements to get to restaurants, stores, etc. by foot or to reach a public transportation stop. Our room had a great view of the canal and beautiful homes across the way. Comfortable beds, hard to get out of them in the morning.”

“Many hotels offer free "extras" in all rooms such as high speed internet access, etc. Hilton does not. They have a charge for everything, including changing dollars to euros (at a bad exchange rate to begin with). However, the front desk and concierge personnel were friendly and cooperative -- they couldn't have been better. Our room was on the first floor in front, with no view of the picturesque canal, and no matter how we adjusted the thermostat it was too warm. No upgrades were available even though we were both members of the Hilton Honors program. In contrast, we had stayed at the Athens Hilton a week earlier, booking the room with Hilton Honors Points, and our room was modern, comfortable and upgraded to a high floor overlooking the Acropolis. ”

“The hotel is very comfortable and the staff is attentive and welcoming, but the location is just not well suited for a leisure traveler. It is a great hotel for the business traveler.”

“Typical American hotel, no Dutch charm. I could have been anywhere in a U. S hotel had I not known that I was in Amsterdam, Netherlands”

“The hotel and the grounds were beautiful. Nice garden and restaurants. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Rooms, while small according to US standards, were efficiently situated. Highly recommend this hotel if you don't mind being out of the center city area.”

“They wanted a credit card upon check in for incidentals, of course. There was some problem with their system and they went through three of my cards before it finally worked. Well, obviously it was their system and by the time they were done, they had put holds in excess of $1500 USD on my cards. I found this out because everywhere I went in Amsterdam my cards were being declined.”

“The Amsterdam Hilton is located in one of Amsterdam's nicest neighborhoods. The rooms were Euro chic, highly functional and sleek without feeling fancy. The staff was superb, especially in the dining room. The gymnasium was awesome, except for the high daily fee. I would stay here again.”

“good hotel - modern and clean - nice neighborhood but a distance from sights. it would not be considered a 5* hotel in the US -a business man's and tour group hotel- but itwas quiet and comfortable. for the money, the Marriott is a better deal and should be the same * rating and is walking distance to sights.”

“The hotel and its location far exceeded our expectations. The room was very attractive and had a splendid view of the city. The staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome and helped us become acquainted with the city. We love to return sometime in the near future.”

“Amsterdam Hilton had the friendliest staff I've ever encountered. The concierge even went to a store to buy my grandson diapers when he ran out. It is walking distance to the Rijks museum which also is a location to get the hop on hop off canal bus. Highly recommend”

“A real 5 star hotel, clearly great for American businessmen, but you probably can't afford the XTRAS and everything is extra - unless you are on an expense account. But good location and no need to buy the extras at the hotel, go out on the town.”

“The hotel was in a very nice and quiet neighborhood. Again, it was not close to the action but was about a 12 minute tram ride. The staff is very friendly and their knowledge of the English language was very good. We had a very nice room overlooking the canal. We left a pair of trousers there and the housekeeping staff found them with ease and is returning them to us.”

“Located in a quiet neighborhood, you could not hear a sound at night. The staff was wonderful. Even though it was far from town, we walked a block and caught the tram so it wasn't a problem. We felt very safe in this hotel. I didn't even use the safe. I knew my belongings were perfectly safe and they were.”
