• The staff was overwhelmingly concerned that we would have a nice time during our stay.
• The pool is not heated. They said they were trying to "maintain the temperature" which was a very positive spin on a cold pool.

“Our stay at the Mandarin Oriental in Washington DC was made magnificent by a doting staff. Apparently, Disney Vacation Club is one of their biggest customers and they wanted to make sure we would "say nice things" about our stay. We were very happy when we left yesterday. There are some issues with the hotel's location but I rather liked the peacefulness it offered, rather than the convenience of being closer to everything would have provided. ”

• Excellent service, beautiful hotel, nice amenities esp. the restaurants.
• Poor location, sterile atmosphere, room spelled of smoke, shower was very uncomfortable.

“This is a perfect hotel for business travelers, esp. those doing business at the FCC. For tourists, it is a bad location with nothing at all around and no warmth. It offers a nice spa and gym, great restaurants and clean facilities everywhere.”

• Forgot wake up call, no yrs on wine list,

“This is a hotel that is simply not up to snuff with the rest of the wonderful mandarin chain.

on a recent stay they couldn't accomodate me for dinner in the dining room, told me it would take an hour to get a hamburger from room service, didn't bother to label the vintages of the wines they served at the bar, and most importantly totally blew a wake up call i left causing me to miss an appointment.

There are lots of hotels in washington better than this one, my advice is to stay away till they get thiings up to snuff!”
