• Location was not too bad.

“Everything was dingy, dirty, and smelled of dampness and smoke. The bathroom had mildew around the tub area and the toilet was so jammed into a corner that is was difficult to use the flush handle without gouging the side wall. We had to lay towels on floor so as not to walk on the stained, worn out carpet.”

• When we got a smoking room and asked for a change, the girl at the counter was very nice about it.
• It could have been cleaner, especially the hallway areas.

“We traveled for one day to Washington and were not familiar with the area. It had a good location for where we needed to go. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was small and clean but the hallways were a little dirty. The breakfast was good for a continental with many choices for everyone with us.”

• Very good bed, good breakfast.
• TV was misprogrammed, staff did nothing to correct it.

“If you want an affordable hotel near the tourist sites of Washington DC (15 minute walk from the White House), and really just a place to crash at the end of the day, this place is great. It's conveniently located, the continental breakfast is very good. There is free WiFi internet. Staff at the hotel was not very helpful, though. Complaints are pretty much ignored and problems I experienced were not corrected.”

“The room was very cozy and private. The staff was very accommodating. The complimentary breakfast had a good selections. The other guests were pleasant. And it was only a short 15 minute walk to the White House and the Washington Mall.”

• Bathroom was a little cramped.

“This hotel is in an excellent location and is perfect for those who simply need a room after a long day of touring the city. The price was absolutely unbeatable considering the location.”

• Staff was accommodating to our needs.
• There were no fans in the bathrooms.

“The staff was helpful and accommodating. The location was within walking distance to sites, restaurants, etc. A couple negatives were the tiny sizes of the rooms and no fans in the bathrooms.”

“My room was nice enough, except for a large stain on the carpet. But overall just fine: clean, and spacious enough for 1-2 people. It seemed rather expensive for the star rating, but I guess that's what I get for being walking distance to the White House and the metro.”

“I was very impressed by the helpful staff here, who allowed me to check in hours before the scheduled time and were great at answering questions. Rooms and amenities are not luxurious, but they are a strong step above functional. My room would have been very cozy for a couple, but was fine for a single traveler. The free breakfast is a nice touch, with plenty of choices. You'll do some walking if you stay here, since the metro is five blocks away and by that point, you'll think you're most of the way to the white house or the mall, so why not keep going.”

• Rooms are very small and not good for more than 2 people.

“The location was relatively close to restaurants, shopping, and the metro (5-6 blocks). The hotel was clean and the staff was friendly. Parking is too expensive ($27/day plus valet tipping). The rooms are very small and not good for more than 2 people or families. The continental breakfast was above average, accept that they froze the fruit (oranges and apples) which made them inedible. I would return if traveling alone, but would go elsewhere if my family is with me.”

• Great location, pretty good breakfast, clean, helpful, easy to get to.
• The rooms are small. No fans in the bathrooms, air-conditioning had a hard time keeping up.

“There were three of us; me, my daughter and my sister. The room was very small. There were two double beds and a pull out love seat, but, no way could that room hold that many people. The air conditioning had a hard time keeping the room moderately cool. The bath was small and with no fan and 3 of us taking showers, the bath got hot and steamy quick. Two people for a weekend, it would be fine.”

• They gave away my room; it took more than 40 minutes to get my car.

“I was told to check back to see if they would have a room for the 2nd night. They state it would take 40 minutes for valet to bring your car around. When I called they said it would be an hour and 20 minutes actually. Other than that, the front desk people were nice, the valet gentlemen were nice, breakfast was pleasant, and it was clean.”

• They don't have airport transportation and it's very far from airport.

• The staff was friendly and helpful.
• The room was far too small for the price. It was not close to our destination.

“The staff was fine. It as not as close to the Smithsonian as I had wanted and the room was very tiny. It was very difficult to even get into the room. I felt that it was far too expensive and rated for too high on you web site.”
