“I walked bare foot in the room, when I stepped in the shower the water turned black! Deck screws loose sticking out of the headboard. Bathroom vent did not operate. Protective screen on the AC heater unit not safe.”

“Staff speaks little English. Internet is only available on floors with outside hallways. Hallways and elevator were filthy.”

“Hotel was very assessable from the interstate, property was attractive, clean and in good repair. Our room looked like it was well cared for, no stains on carpet or on bathroom tiles. Our handicap bathroom was arranged well and had enough wall bars that we felt safe in tub/shower.”

“The hotel rooms open from the street. There are no security cameras. Three times a woman knocked on my door between 12 am and 2 am. The hotel is at the end of a dead end street with nothing of note around it. It did not feel safe being outside for my nightly walks. The remote control was broken. If you are by yourself and staying overnight this might be a doable spot. If you have kids you might want to rethink the hotel down the street. Very slow elevator. Since the rooms were open to the street, every one smokes outside and it seems just outside your door.”

“We enjoyed staying at this hotel. It was clean, bed was comfortable, and the TV was good size. The breakfast provided had little variety, but was otherwise good. I would recommend this hotel to business travelers, and couples on leisure travel.”

“This hotel appears as if they are trying to renovate but they aren't moving very fast. The rooms appear ok when you walk in but if you pull the sheets back on the bed you see stains on the underside of the comforter. Very concerning. The bathroom had obviously not been renovated in at least a year but there was drywall dust on the door stop on the wall. Just a disappointment.”

“Older hotel in need of much renovation, not only to building, but also to staff. Basics lacking. Reasonable rate, but would not stay at this particular location again.”

“Good location, friendly staff, room was clean but a bit "stuffy" since air had not been turned on prior to my arrival. But, all in all, it served my purposes well.”

“The location was great. They hotel was in the middle of remodeling and apparently hadn't gotten to our room yet. The rooms my children and grandchildren were in were okay. Very busy weekend and breakfast was chaotic.”

“My experience with this hotel was the worst I have ever had at any hotel I have ever stayed at. I had to change rooms three times the one night I stayed. We opted to eat the continental breakfast at the hotel and they ran out of almost everything. The posted pool hours were 8am - 11pm. After my daughter talking all night about swimming early the next morning we went down to swim and they were cleaning the pool at 9am. We waited 45 minutes for them to get done, along with 2 other families. I was not very pleased with my stay at this hotel.”

“This hotel has poor management and no apparent professional maintenance. Staff seems to be family and friends. Pool was to open at 8am but that's when they chose to clean it. Opened at 1 pm. First room air conditioner didn't work. Second was missing temperature control knob.”

“This was the worst hotel that I have ever stayed in! The location was in the ghetto, 2 police cars came because of a fight that had broke out, the room stank, and all we heard all night long was people walking and pounding on the 3rd floor. 1/2 the lights didn't work in the hotel and if we hadn't checked in so late we would have left. I didn't feel safe and overall it was a bad experience and I would never recommend Travelodge to anyone! They make it seem so nice on the website with the pictures and nice reviews but it's disgusting and it creates a false look for the hotel!”

“We wanted to visit King's Island and the Newport Aquarium. The hotel was convenient. We were angered the first night not by the hotel but by the Chinese restaurant that the hotel had a flyer at their front desk stating that they delivered. Being that the hotel had an advertisement at their front desk, we assumed the restaurant was familiar with hotel patrons ordering. They were surprisingly the rudest immigrants I have ever imagined. They stated on the phone, no deliver, come pick up or go home. This country is my home. My husband and I love cultural diversity, but at that point, I wanted that woman to be sent back home. Obviously, she had forgotten she is in the United States and English is our language and she works in a business that has left their flyer at the hotel to deliver food. I also feel the hotel should have investigated the integrity of the business before advertising for the establishment. We were so angered on our first day of our vacation; we also reported the Chinese restaurant in the United States to the American Better Business Bureau.”
