“I was generally satisfied with my stay except the parking fee of $14.00. Parking should be free to customers. I thought it's a rip off.”

“The room was dirty upon our arrival, with hair & urine on the toilet and dirty sheets on our bed. The room advertised to be equipped with cable, however none of the channels worked, and upon calling the front desk, we were told that an "engineer" was not available to come look at it. We were also unable to bathe/shower due to the tub being clogged. The room also smelled of mold & mildew. My husband has allergy issues, and it was apparent when he woke up the next morning that he would not be able to sleep there another night. The front desk had told us that this was the only room available, so we contacted them to let them know that we would not being staying for the rest of the week because our room was unacceptable. They simply asked for our room number and said "ok." We were also overcharged for parking, and I have personally contacted the hotel's accounting department regarding this and have of course received no return phone call. I would strongly urge you to lower their rating or remove this hotel from your listings altogether if not for the condition of the room, then for the lack of customer service.”

“This hotel was fairly nice. It had a clean and well maintained lobby and I had no complaints with the room. However, two negative things I noticed were the overpriced cost of parking (14 dollars per night) and a lack elevators in the building. We were placed in the back of the building and there was no convenient access to our room - after taking the lobby elevator up we had to walk down a hallway that spanned the width of the building and then another hallway that spanned the length of the building (no small task with luggage for four and a two-year old.)”

“I was unaware that I would have to spend almost $50.00 just to park my car in their uncovered parking lot.”

“The hotel was very clean. The staff was the nicest of any hotel that I have stayed at. The beds were the most comfortable of any hotel bed I have ever slept in. It was nice to have the Tiki Bar overlooking the riverwalk. It was very easy to catch the water taxi to get to the main part of the riverwalk.”

“Overall clean, friendly and convenient hotel with good amenities. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend this location to our fellow travelers. We would only point out that the food on Riverwalk is sub-par. Adventure out into the surrounding areas to find the really good stuff.”

“From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with a huge smile and hello by the front desk. My entire stay there was amazing. The gym had a lot of equipment which I haven't seen in a hotel gym before. The food at the restaurant was very good. Every morning I was greeted with a smile from the people who work there.”

“The Tropicano is not a bad hotel. The menu for the restaurant and bar are not up to date. Many items were not available.”

“We were pleasantly surprised. We didn't feel unsafe in this part of town. We were able to walk 20 minutes along the Riverwalk to the busy part of the Riverwalk. It was really lovely. They are extending the Riverwalk beyond this hotel, so it is getting nicer and nicer.”

“Nice place that's located right on the Riverwalk. The only problem is that its on the far end of the Riverwalk so it takes a while to get to the restaurants and the Alamo.”

“The hotel setting was nice and clean, the tropical colors made it pleasing and for the most part the staff was friendly. We had an issue with a very rude house keeping employee but other than that everyone else was pleasant.”

“To sum it up, picture Miami Vice 1980's. It's outside of downtown and in need of major remodeling (even though it looks as though an attempt was made). It's located on the expaned Riverwalk where you cannot walk and does not have the river flowing through it. It's still under construction. Then, you have to pay $14.00 to park at the hotel and drinks and food are over priced.”
