  • Absolutely fantastic, style, service, everything.
  • Location is a bit dicey.

“I loved the rooms, the lobby, and everything about this hotel!”

  • Relaxing, clean, great location, exceptional value!

“My husband and I had an amazing time. Priceline gave us such a great value for our money. We have visited many 4 and 5 star hotels, and this was one of our favorites. They have an amazing spa facility, very relaxing. The rooms are small - like all of San Francisco - but we felt like it was the most warm and romantic location we have been so far!”

  • When I got lost I called the hotel and they gave me directions. They also recommended good places to eat.
  • It cost fifty dollars to park my car. I parked on the street instead and got towed. Bad Bad experience.

“The Hotel Monoco was very easy to find. The staff were attentive. I got a very good price on priceline but they put me in a tiny room and would not do any upgrade for less than regular price. Also, this is one of those hotels where everything is for sale. My whole room was like a little store.....the robes, pj's, snacks everything was for sale. I would think a 4 star hotel room would be above this sort of penny pinching. I found it tacky. I would rather not have to deal with spending money in my little room.”

  • An absolutely charming, quaint hotel.
  • No parking. The bed wasn't very comfortable.

“So charming and quaint. Our room, even though small, was so cozy and comfortable. The staff was great. The afternoon wine tasting was a fun idea.”

  • For the price it was excellent and exceeded our expectations.

“The hotel is a boutique hotel and quite nice. Rooms were adequate in size, though the bathroom was large. The staff always welcoming and helpful and the location was good.”

  • Quaint style and
    very friendly staff.
  • Room was very small; not as anticipated by descriptions.

“The Monaco was very inviting from the time you walked in the lobby. Very stylish room but on a much smaller scale.”

  • The ambiance of the hotel room was excellent! It was very warm and romantic and I wanted to stay longer.
  • The clothes in the closet (particularly the boxers and socks) were nice, but unnecessary.

“Hotel Monaco is all more. The staff is helpful and friendly, and the room was perfect from the cleanliness and the decor to the Aveda bath products.”

  • It was unique, warm and welcoming.

“Upon arrival, I found the staff to be helpful and willing to assist me with my every needs. Upon checkout they happily stored my bags and allowed me the continued use of the facilities whilst I waited for my pickup to the airport.”

  • Nice presentation of lobby even if it was quite small.
  • Snobby restaurant hostess. I asked a question and she was giggling and laughing and said sorry.

“The front desk was not accommodating, there is no front temporary parking for check-in.”

  • Service was FANTASTIC!
  • Not a great view.

“This place was awesome! Ambiance was great and the service by the staff is something to write home about! Had silverware delivered to our room and was there within the minute! Everyone was very polite and helpful! I wasn't thrilled about the view I had from my room. Overall, I will look to stay in this hotel every time I am visiting San Francisco!”

  • Everything.

“Great place, would love to stay here everytime I come to San Francisco. Staff was friendly. Sitting room with coffee and newspaper along with fireplace was nice. Both restaurants were great.”

  • Friendly, helpful staff; clean, attractive room; beautiful modern decor; free, evening wine-tasting, Hors d' Oeuvres.
  • Room was very small, seemed overly-stuffed with decorative items.

“A very pleasant hotel experience. The staff was friendly, helpful, with good suggestions for parking, etc. Conveniently located near Union Sq. and the Theater District. Easy access to all forms of transportation. Would recommend it highly.”

  • Service was impeccable, clean, great location, great amenities.
  • The spa was closed, grand cafe very bad service and food.

“We had a safety issue and the service staff were amazingly efficient and effective with the solution they gave us. We got an upgrade in less than 1 minute and we received all the help needed. There was an excellent follow-up of the problem by the front desk p.m. manager is definitely an asset to the company, good for you!”

  • The staff is absolutely wonderful! The hotel was spotless and beds were like a cloud!
  • Nothing!

“This hotel is one of the best in Union Square. We've stayed here several times and they are always wonderful to us. The rooms are spotless and the beds are like sleeping on a cloud. They have long-term employees so you see a familiar face when you check in. The extra amenities like the wine & cheese, neck massages and pet friendliness makes this hotel so welcoming.”
