“We have stayed in much nicer places for a lower rate.”

  • Some units seemed a little more primitive and smaller.

“We stayed in a one bedroom territorial style casita with a fireplace. We looked at some of the other one bedroom units, but ours seemed quite a bit larger and nicer room. Had a living room, bedroom, hallway, bath and small kitchenette and private patio. The grounds were beautiful little walkways with several tables and chairs along the way. Fabulous breakfast (free). Great help at the front desk. They helped select our activities for each day. Other desk employees nice, also. Very convenient to the plaza, 3 blocks away. We will stay here again if we can get the same unit. Some of the others seemed a little run down, so check out your options. Also very good air conditioning in the summer. Very quiet place, also dog friendly.”

  • The location is reasonably good, and it looks nice from outside.
  • I would never recommend Las Palomas to anyone.

“The shower leaked, and the shower floor sloped toward the wall and away from the drain, so there was always a pool of water in the shower with frequent loud drips. There was no dresser for our clothing. The porch light only seemed to work during the day, so we had to be careful at night not to trip on the uneven walkway, and we fumbled in the dark to get the key into the lock. When it rained one night, there was a leak in the roof above the closet creating a second puddle in our room to accompany the one in the shower. Although the weather was very cold, our room was always hot, and, since the air conditioning did not work, we were forced to keep a very noisy blower running continuously when we were in the room. Even once we figured out the totally screwy light switches, the lighting was poor, at best, for any kind of reading in bed. The beds were extremely soft resulting in daily backaches. The kitchen (a refrigerator, microwave oven, and coffee maker) was stacked in the closet and very difficult to access. The sink drained erratically, sometimes barely at all. The free breakfast made me yearn for Holiday Inn Express, something I never thought I would miss. While I give the staff credit for general friendliness, I don't give them credit for anything else. The office closed at 9:00 pm, so there was no one around if something went wrong at night. The housekeeping staff did not replace soap, facial tissue, or toilet paper; we had to go looking for someone to ask for replacements. This place was terrible, and I would never recommend it to anyone.”

  • Romantic, quiet and close to town.
  • No negatives about this hotel.

“We had a casitas across the street from the main office. It had wooden floors and a wood-burning fireplace. The room was quite large and included a small frig and microwave. It is very quiet around the hotel with free parking on site. The hotel is about 3-4 blocks from the main plaza. Breakfast was included and offered a wide variety of items and special hot items. The staff was friendly and suggested places to eat and visit while in town. We enjoyed our 3 night stay so much, that we extended our stay an additional 2 nights.”

  • Nestled together, close to town, very Santa Fe, good waffles.
  • Not much parking.

“The room we stayed in was a one bedroom. It was smallish and the floors and bed squeaked allot. But we thought it was charming. The hotel is tucked behind a wall and the landscaping was very nice. There was a small fountain outside the room, nice lighting at night. The hot tub is small and secluded. It was clean and we stayed for one night. Compared to the 5 star we stayed in at Telluride, this was not to compare. But for the price and the convenience of being close to the plaza, I guess it was worth it. Parking was not available in front so we had to park at the office and walk about 1/2 block. I would definitely stay again.”

  • It was very clean and comfortable.
  • Hard to find and a little noisy and a little worn.

“We stayed in one of the casitas off site. It was a little hard to find in the dark. When we finally found it, it was clean and comfortable. The rooms are not exactly sound proof, so as long as your neighbors aren't noisy or the groundskeeper doesn't start blowing leaves at 7 AM, your stay will be fine. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and it was convenient to the square downtown.”

  • The breakfasts were very good. The hotel common area very nice.
  • Our casita was located down and across the street from the main hotel.

“There was not enough parking to accommodate the casitas across and down the street, so 2 out of the 3 nights we spent there, we had to park at the main hotel and walk to our casita. We would not have chosen to stay there if we had known the hotel was located in two different locations. The floor had been waxed. The rugs that were placed on the bedroom floor did not help. Upon walking into the room the first day, we both almost landed on our rears! The floors were unbelievably slick (think ice). The air conditioner (central, I think, as it ran on a thermostat) ran almost continually, no matter what we set the thermostat. The staff was very friendly, free internet use to get boarding passes was a plus.”
