• Location (with airport pickup), price & their business center.
• One hotel staff, lack of even complimentary comb/razor/breakfast.

“First impression really means so much. The first employee I spoke to over the phone and also when I arrived did not project the image of a typical hotel concierge to me - courteous, accommodating, and welcoming to guests. I would try to avoid this hotel by going one star higher or lower so I won't get this hotel anymore next time when I visit Chicago.”

• Very helpful man in charge.
• No inexpensive restaurants nearby.

“Easy access from interstate highway. Staff was helpful, sometimes very helpful. Business center, could be bigger. No pool. Room was comfortable, clean, well furnished. No inexpensive restaurants nearby; in-house cupboard has microwave meals, snacks and personal items for sale; prices high, but no place else nearby to buy such items. Good for a clean, comfortable room while traveling, but bring your own snackables.”

• It is great quality hotel.
• No restaurant at premises.

“Great hotel, neat and luxury even more than some 4 starts except the lack of restaurants but there are restaurants by and you easily get your room service. I recommend this hotel to everyone. Some staff needs to improve on the customer service aspect but I must say that has improve a lot from my pass 3 visits.”

• Hotel was neat and clean, room was comfortable for business travel.
• No pool.

“This hotel is great for business travel. Room is comfortable with TV and living room area for lounging, desk with hi-speed internet connection, and a decent kitchen. For the price, I thought the hotel was great.”

• Not in the best part of town, no ice machine.

“We were locked out of our room, TV channels did not match what the hotel had in it's book. Basically, the hotel is for a one night stay. Not really for an extended stay, but for the price it was fine.”

• Close to airport, inexpensive, nice room.
• Communication between hotel and airport shuttle is not as fast as they advertise.

“The hotel accommodations were good and the staff was friendly. However, the shuttle service could be better coordinated. Candlewood does not have its own shuttle service, it contracts it out to Park n'Jet. So the front desk has to call Park n' Jet if they have people waiting. The bus was full by the time it got to our hotel so we had to wait 30 minutes for the next bus (as you can imagine we almost missed our flight).”

• The staff was very helpful and super friendly. We were impressed with the amenities.
• We spent some time driving Downtown so the location was not suited for tourists.

“The hotel was attractive both inside and out. The staff was wonderful and ready to help. My husband and I were impressed with the room. It was not huge but we had a full size fridge, stove, and even a dishwasher. There were plates and silverware which came in handy. We are planning on going back this summer and we're making it a family trip.”

• The hotel is clean, neat and convenient to utilize as a suite.
• The shuttle is not their own car but out-sourced vehicles.

“For novice travelers, they might miss the right shuttle if they assume that the shuttle has the "Candlewood" mark on the shield window of the car. Instead, there is only a 'ParkNJet' mark which may cause a guests to misunderstand the right shuttle as a vehicle dispatched from parking service company. Actually, they hire the 'ParkNJet' company as a outsourcing supplier for shuttle service. Of course, they marked their hotel mark at the bottom of side doors. But, it is hardly notified. Except this, everything is reasonable.”

• The Convenience and the price!
• Expected to get a one bedroom, ended up getting a studio -still nice though!

“The front desk attendant was very friendly and helpful in deciding a place to dine. I was able to rent movies from the front desk for free -recent movies too! Each room was equipped with a dishwasher, a few dishes, and a microwave (already with a bag of popcorn in it for my enjoyment). I enjoyed the stay, would definitely stay at Candlewood suites again if I need a hotel near O'Hare!”

• I liked the cupboard feature - We could have breakfast without leaving the hotel and spending lots of money.
• I didn't like that there was not a pool but it was OK.

“I really liked this hotel. It would be a great place for long stays. It is great "staying in" hotel. We went for a romantic getaway and it was great because we didn't have to run here and there to go get what we needed. I loved that there was a complete kitchen and great accommodations. I would definitely stay there again or even seek out this hotel in other towns. Everyone was friendly and courteous; they went out of their way to help. Overall, Fantastic experience.”

• It was convenient to where I needed to be.
• The staff was rude and unprofessional and completely unhelpful at any time.

“I will try to keep it short. Basically everything could have been overlooked if the assistant manager that we had to deal with wasn't so immensely rude and I witnessed his rudeness to other guests as well. The only good staff member was the manager.”

• Very comfortable bed and nice towels. They provided 3 pillows each with different firmness which was nice.
• Noisy heater turning off & on all night & the airplane noise.

“We needed a place to sleep near the city for an evening and didn't want to spend a lot of money. This hotel was clean, had comfy beds and fit the bill financially. Seemed to be for business people more than leisure travelers, which was fine in our case since we had things to do in the city and were not relying on the hotel to entertain us. I would stay there again.”
