  • Really nice staff and the bed was extremely comfy.
  • Nothing.

“The Franklin NYC is a cozy little hotel. This was our first trip to The Big Apple, we're actually from Iceland, and when we travel to this wonderful city again we're going to stay at The Franklin again and again.”

Cleanliness:[10] • Staff:[10] • Location:[10]

  • Extraordinarily friendly and helpful staff.
  • The tiniest room I've ever stayed in!

“You could tell from the conversation at the free continental breakfast that everyone staying at the Franklin shared the sense that this place is a gem. The rooms are tiny, but they are very nicely appointed and the staff is exceptionally courteous.”

Cleanliness:[10] • Staff:[10] • Location:[10]

  • Intimacy of the space, food, and staff was perfect.
  • Hotel public spaces were way too small. Seats only 6 comfortably.

“Staff, food, location and room were great - better than expected. Public space was ridiculously small. A lot of waiting and a lot of patience to get into the room get food then stand in the hall to eat.”

Cleanliness:[10] • Staff:[10] • Location:[10]

  • Service. The people in the hotel made extreme efforts to help us out and make our stay fantastic.
  • Breakfast seemed to be a bit hectic. Could use some more hands on Sunday morning.

“The Franklin Hotel was spectacular. The location was terrific (right across from the express subway), the internet access was helpful, the staff was personable (like we had known them our whole lives), and the rooms were surprisingly clean and fresh. We loved our stay. Truly loved it.”

Cleanliness:[10] • Staff:[10] • Location:[10]

  • Very comfortable bed including the pillow and bedding. The angora and merino throw was sublime.
  • The bathroom was so tiny that my shoulders touched the wall on both sides while using the sink.

“We were treated very well by the staff at The Franklin. The location was convenient and the breakfast was first class. While the room and bathroom especially were tiny, my only real complaint was that the air conditioner was quite noisy. Overall we were quite comfortable.”

Cleanliness:[9] • Staff:[10] • Location:[10]

  • Staff terrific, European continental breakfast great, rooms attractive and well appointed.
  • Rooms very small, much smaller than expected for the price.

“The Franklin is well situated to enjoy and stay in NY upper east side. Attractively decorated, very nice staff and lovely breakfast. Be prepared to live lovely, though tight.”

Cleanliness:[9] • Staff:[10] • Location:[10]

  • The staff is very accommodating, always smiling and always willing to help.
  • Very narrow breakfast/wine and cheese room was a bit cramped.

“The hotel is nice, but the staff is excellent! They made the experience everything it was. I was in a large room which was fine for New York, but would not have wanted anything smaller. The hotel was clean and the wine and cheese offering in the evening was a nice touch and quite enjoyable. The hotel is located around the corner from the 86th Street subway station which proved to be highly convenient. Also, top museums and Central Park are less than 5 minute's walk. There is plenty of quality dining nearby. I would stay there again in a New York minute!”

  • The people working the front desk were terrific.

“I have mixed feelings about my stay at the Hotel Franklin. I really liked the hotel staff. They went out of their way to meet any need I had. I liked the location of the hotel. It was located in a nice safe area of the city and close to public transportation. I was unhappy about the size of the rooms. All rooms were small and only had one bed. I had to book an extra room when I arrived because the room I booked was too small for a family of four.”

  • I love boutique hotels. Breakfast, wine/cheese hour excellent.
  • Room very small.

“If you like boutique hotels you will love this one. The lounge area and breakfast area in the lobby is very comfortable. I would compare it to a quant bib and I love those. Getting to know the other guests was fun.”

  • The rooms were clean and up to date, loved the Aveda toiletries. The staff was great helping us with directions and transportation ideas and dining.
  • The room smelled smoky even though supposedly it was a non-smoking room and floor.

“We had a great stay here. The room was small but clean and up to date. I loved that they had Aveda toiletries - nice touch. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They helped us with dining options, directions and even the best way to get to places in the city - walking vs. subway, etc. The location was great, so close to the museums and the subway. We would definitely stay here again.”
