• Location view.
• Coffee maker didn't work Breakfast room to small.

“The location is close to beach, shops, trolley stop. The rooms have a great view of ocean and a small balcony to enjoy the fresh air. The parking was good with easy access to hotel.”

• The staff was great! Check in was speedy, despite a crowded lobby, I did have to come back for the key since my room was not ready at 3:30.
• Hard to get wireless service in my room.

“Weather was overcast and windy, so the lobby was crammed at 3 pm. Several (and I would later become one of them) people had to come back after check in to get our keys. When I had trouble getting wireless connection, I used the handy card in the room, to be told they no longer serviced Ramadas. When I went to the lobby a very nice gentleman was patient while I finally got my computer to work. I was fine in my room that night, although I had to go back to the breakfast room in the morning to again hook back up. The room was dirty with used Styrofoam cups left on the TV. Although the rest of the room was clean. I did have a nice waffle in the breakfast room the next morning, although I was very crowded, again the staff was great, refilling the waffle dispenser, and Danish and forks and the like.”

• Close to the beach and restaurants. Liked the shower. Didnt like the coffee setup in the bathroom.
• Older hotel. Needs new amenities. More sugar and cream for coffee please.

• The location and the balcony on the room.
• The poor cleanliness.

“The room we were given was supposed to be a non-smoking room, but was heavily smoke ridden, complete with cigarette burns in the blanket. I was having tough time breathing. The ice maker did not work. In need of a paint job and a good cleaning overall, rooms and entire hotel.”

• The hotel's location is wonderful.
• The Hotel hall ways and elevators need a good cleaning, the linen's were clean and the room was ok.

“Upon check in a Spanish lady named Anna was rude, She was equally rude at checkout. I suggest if she does not like her job to get another one.”

• Across the street from the beach. Good location.
• Housekeeping did not speak English. We had a lot of questions about the unfamiliar place we were in!

“I was upset about the aroma of illegal activity when we stepped out the elevator to get to our room for the first time. I was also upset the room service was not helpful and did not speak English. We had to sleep in a dirty room and ask for towels our last night. Our room did not get cleaned and the front desk did not seem concerned. I am not sure that I would stay there again!”

• Continental breakfast, but needed another waffle iron (only 1).
• Ac, elect and magnetic door card problems, not enough towels, and staff/mgmt rude.

“Asked for more towels, said they had none available, (full house) mgmt any other rooms, but had a suite. Could not switch because we prepaid on webmaster. ”

• Staff was not friendly, room not clean. Lobby dirty, keys did not work.

“I would not recommend this hotel. It was dirty and the staff was not friendly. When I told them my security [card] key did not work she said it just needed cleaning and she had not had a chance to clean it. For 3 days it did not work. There was a dirty cup on the air conditioner when we checked in and it was still there 3 days later. Patio was also dirty.”

• Free wireless internet. Location for business.
• The place clearly needed upgrading, although I was told upgrading was planned.

“This hotel was clearly a higher 2.5 star hotel at one time. Although the rooms were in good condition, the hotel public spaces had declined and demonstrated a need for some upgrading. The location was good for my business in downtown Galveston, but is at the opposite end of the seawall area from the majority of the tourist and recreational activities. The neighborhood inland from the seawall at this location is "seedy."”

• Run down in general. Pool dry.

“The area and the hotel were run down. The pool was dry. Did have a nice continental breakfast. Not a bad hotel, but not a real nice one either.”

• The staff was helpful when we had problems with our accommodations. Proximity to the beach was great.
• Common areas, such as the lobby, hallways and elevators were not air conditioned.

“In general, this hotel was pretty crummy. If not for its proximity to the beach, there were would be no reason to stay there. It was hot, except for in our room. In our room, the toilet didn't flush. The outer doors didn't work so that you had to walk around to the other side of the building to enter. Common areas were hot and smelled funky. I would not recommend this hotel.”

• The balcony was nice to have. It gave us another area to visit.
• The hotel was old and needed up dating. The towels had a chemical odor and was not soft.

“It was O.K. for a short stay. The pool area was nothing special. The continental breakfast was dine in only which was not convenient for young children. It would have been nice to have brought breakfast up to the room for the kids. By the way we missed the breakfast two mornings in a row. The first morning our clock in the room read 10:03 Am and on the second morning the clock read 9:54 AM yet the breakfast room was already not accessible. The door to the room definitely did not form a tight seal. And the tub was alright for showering but not suitable for bathing the children.”
