• Clean! Even with renovation work.
• Bit out of the way if you are planning a vacation in DC. Had to drive to Metro, then park, then board train. Got expensive - over $20 a day on train.

• If I am crazy, I will say anything good about this hotel.
• Steal my stuff, over charges two nights I was not there.

“Don't stay there unless you are ready for staff steal your stuff, and do not care to pay the nights you are not there. I had to fight with them for more than a week to get the two nights charges back.”

• English speaking staff, very pleasant.
• Honor system store paid in cash, got a bill due at checkout.

“Very pleased with stay except for the honor system store which didn't work since I paid in cash but had a bill waiting for me at my 6:30am checkout. The deposit to have a pet was extremely high at $75, what else could I do but pay it.”

• Well equipped kitchen. Excellent customer service.
• Would prefer wireless internet connection.

“This hotel far exceeded my expectations. The staff was very friendly and courteous. It has free laundry which is a huge benefit for long term stay. The kitchen was very well equipped including Pyrex and metal dishes, dishwasher, fridge and microwave.”

“This is an excellent place for travellers with vehicles to stay. It's convenient to go to town, shopping and dining. Staff friendly and helpful. Quiet with nice neighborhood.”

• Kitchenette was well supplied for cooking.
• Staff was sometimes hard to find, especially at check-out. I noticed some other guests had the same experience.

“Reasonably priced, good kitchenette for travelers trying to save on food costs. Nicely supplied "honor system" food store, with reasonable prices. Two light bulbs burned out when I arrived. Maid service was only once a week. When I went to checkout and get an itemized receipt mid-morning on a Sunday, I had to search several floors of the hotel to find the manager, who was busy cleaning a room. He was nice enough, but would have been helpful to have had a pager number or something to locate him easier. The hotel is located a bit out-of-the-way. But overall, I would stay at this hotel again.”

• The honor pantry.
• Lack of front desk staff.

“Candlewood Suites is a good stay for the thrifty traveler. Kitchenette is perfect to save on food and the honor pantry has goodies and necessities ready for purchase at a reasonable price. Don't expect maid service or an attentive front desk. But this hotel is a great value.”

• Friendly, clean.
• The garbage disposal was not working. Problems with sink in kitchen.

“It was a pleasant little hotel. Friendly at check in and check out. Clean rooms and linens. Thought there was an oven no oven or toaster oven. It was me, my husband and daughter and we were given a room with one queen bed, asked for a roll out bed and were told there were none. Over all it met our needs.”

• Convenient area to get snack and food essentials in lobby.
• Refrigerator was not keeping cold, everything spoiled, but hotel reimbursed.

“Very nice hotel and location was great. The extended stay was having a barbecue when we arrived. The staff was very friendly and accomodating. The room was great, the only down side was the double bed. There were two of us traveling so that made things a little tight! Good I was friendly with my coworker.”

• I liked the large rooms, TV channels, food pantry set-up, gym, free laundry.
• No business center in case you didn't bring a laptop.

“The staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms were large with blow dryer and ironing board. They had an honor system food pantry setup which was convenient and their location was very good for me.”

• Honor box snack/breakfast and free laundry (did not use but great idea).
• Could not figure out climate controls--froze solid one night.

“Very convenient location, great price. Good for business. Quite comfortable. No linen service but one day a week, so you make your own bed and re-use your towels. Frankly, not too bad given price, free laundry facilities, and decent directions at front desk.”

• Roomy, up-to-date suites. Excellent for business and family travelers Excellent service.
• Nothing negative to report.

“We booked this hotel as the half way point for a family vacation to Myrtle Beach. This hotel could easily go up at least a half a star. We were awarded two hotel rooms for $46 on the way down and one hotel room for $45 on the way back. For that price we were given a studio suite - with full size kitchen, complimentary soft drinks and microwave popcorn upon arrival. Very spacious. The service is excellent. The location is about 10 miles from the interstate - but easy to get to and in an excellent service near malls, restaurants and shopping. The hotel itself is tucked into a quiet planned corporate community, so there was no road noise and you could go for a morning run. When we checked in on the way back, we realized that we really needed two rooms. ”
