“The staff at both the hotel and the restaurant was very nice and helpful. The hotel is going through renovations so it is messy, but has a lot of potential.”

“The overall stay at the hotel was nice. Nothing being done about the rowdy guests at 2:30 in the morning really got on my nerves.”

“The staff was helpful and friendly. The room was a normal unremarkable hotel room that served a purpose. The bathroom was clean however the heat lamp did not work. We were only in the room for 9 hours so no further observation could be made.”

“I really wish I'd stayed some place else. It felt unsafe, it looked neglected. The worse part was that I'd had a guest with me. It was very embarrassed.”

“The rooms are large and have recently been redone with newer bedding and curtains, although the TVs are still 25' tubes with poor color due to their age. The room size and recent room changes are the only positives to this otherwise aged hotel. The room carpets and public area carpets are filthy with large stains. The first room had a large water stain (3'X3') on the carpet going into the bathroom due to an inappropriately banked handicapped shower. Obviously water runs into the room - so fix the shower stall! There are two elevators for a 12 story building - only one works - and this has been for quite some time. The pool had broken flooring tiles laying on the pool deck - if the tiles are broken then pick up the shards of ceramic, don't wait for someone to cut their feet. Also above the pool some ceiling tiles were missing revealing exposed wires. Overall - the location, condition and comfort of this hotel is not that of a similarly ranked Embassy Suites, Hyatt or Hilton.”

“I liked the hotel over all. It was under renovations. I was disappointed that there was only 1 elevator working and that I had to pay for parking.”

“The hotel is in the midst of a renovation and is not a 3 star hotel. The location is really lousy, in a scary urban area and the parking in a public parking garage across the street made me uncomfortable walking back at night. Our keys had to be reprogrammed over and over again - as with several of our fellow guests who went up and down the barely operational and disgustingly dirty elevator over and over again. The soda machine on our floor was empty. There were linens littering the hallways for over 24 hours - they were still there when we left. The room itself was ok - maybe 2.5 star - it had obviously been remodeled. It was obvious that the place was barely being maintained in the midst of the renovation. This is one time where I really wished I'd invested a few extra bucks to get a decent hotel.”

“After the long wait in the lobby for my room to be ready it still was unacceptably dirty. The lamps and TV were dusty. The chair at the desk was sticky. The dusty TV was obsolete and would not accept connections to my son's video game system. There was only one tiny bar of soap in the bathroom, and no toothpaste. The ceiling above the tub was starting to come apart. The soda and ice machines were not working. The restaurant was understaffed and dirty. The long wait for service was intolerable. The one working elevator was dirty and in a state of disrepair. The room's insufficient air conditioning extremely noisy.”

“It was just a place to rest, not much more than that. Having no drapes across the window was awful. However, I don't think you could beat the location. The staff was always very friendly. About a 7 of 10.”

“This could be a really nice hotel if they would update and clean the place. Dirty lobby, filthy brass handrails and glass, dirty floors, cluttered front desk area - you get the idea, and basically undecorated. I felt like I was in another country. Access after hours to hotel lobby was wide open - it's in a fairly sleazy part of town, since the door that was supposed to be entrance only by room key only, was broken and almost off the hinges. When I finally got there, parking is across the street in a garage, and the hotel takes care of the $6 cost, with in and out privileges, but you must have a validated ticket each day. Getting the validation each day was a hassle, since there was always a line at the front desk of mad, frustrated people. I only saw one person behind the front desk at any time. They only had a smoky, stinky room at first, and it took a while (at midnight) to get moved to a nicer room. Then, no ice machine on the floor, since they were only available on 3 floors of the 8 story hotel. Some of the hallways were smoky and all of the public places were Dirty. I was basically pleased in the end with the second room, it was fresh and comfortable. But they should have offered that in the first place, instead of giving me an out of service room.”

“It's ok for someone that is going for business not for family looking for site to see and visit, my children didn't appreciate there was no refrigerator in the room, like the other Holiday Inn we have stayed. But again the safety was a big concern for my husband and I.”

“Unexpectedly comfortable and attractive room - much of hotel is under renovation, but we had a completed room with excellent bedding. Front desk staff at check in and check out was very friendly and helpful. The only drawback was trying to navigate Allentown's one way streets to find the Downtown location. This was just a travel stop for us, but it was a very pleasant, comfortable stay.”

“The staff was helpful and friendly. I had a good dinner although it was a little pricey. The rooms were very old and the hotel is in renovation. The front driveway area where you park to check in was blocked on the other end by cars that had exceeded the 15 minutes for parking- I ended up having to back out into traffic to get to the parking garage and then lug my suitcase back across the street to the hotel.”
