“I was traveling to a concert with two teen daughters, the hotel was just across the street from the concert venue, which was exceptionally convenient, the shuttle van driver was very friendly and amazingly helpful, informing us of places to eat and stay and running us across the street in the van on the night of the performance because it was raining.”

“Well situated with excellent views of the harbor & sailboats. We ate in the dining room for several breakfasts and one dinner and were impressed with the quality of the meals served. Our room was clean and staff was attentive. Workout room though small, was well appointed, and the pool area was spacious and afforded handicap access onto patio and into water.”

“The hotel is in a good location, walk able to most parts of downtown Portland. We were pleasantly surprised to have a room that was probably a suite. Though we didn't face the water, the size of the room made up for the uninteresting view. This is not what I remember any Holiday Inn to be like! The Holiday Inn By the Bay is more like a Hilton!”

“It is a holiday. It provides the services needed and the location with out going overboard. I think it might be good if you have business in the area. We traveled up by train and was able to walk about the city and waterfront easily and also get a shuttle to and from the train station.”

“The hotel met my expectations although it was difficult to fall asleep due to the constant roar of the cooling system. It sounded like a diesel truck parked under my window on the eight floor that started and accelerated while shifting from low gear to high gear. This is the only complaint that I had.”

“Our room was not cleaned everyday. The person working in the lounge was very rude.”

“A great place to stay. You appreciate the proximity to the wharf area and enjoy the short walks to just about everywhere in downtown Portland. The staff was very friendly, the room spacious and clean and meticulously cared for. The parking garage very easy to keep and assess car to take nearby jaunts. The view was great overlooking Casco Bay. Portland is a great big town city with a eclectic fresh air feel. The people in the area are friendly, happy and wonderful sources of places to see and go.”
