“My son had to be at the area hospital very early in the morning, so we needed to spend the night before in Portland. This hotel was the closest to the hospital and sounded good according to the listing. We found out when we got there that we had to pay $17.00 per night to park, so the price all together was actually more than some of the other hotels we could and should have stayed at. We were placed in an older section that was not updated and had a really old bathroom that reeked of smoke. When trying to brush our teeth before bed the sink would not drain. The Internet also did not work (I'm not too sure if it ever does).”

“Portland's Eastland Park is an attractive, comfortable hotel ideally located near the city's art museum, best restaurants and waterfront. Rooms are on the small side with awkwardly placed power outlets, but the plush beds, above-average decor and view of the city make this a destination worth repeating.”

“Stay away - sleazy, seedy, scuzzy, no parking, no pool, crappy exercise room, need I say more?”

“We loved the Eastland Park Hotel, our room was very spacious, even for us with two small children. We had a corner room with wonderful floor to ceiling windows on two sides with great views of the park and city. As you might expect with an historic hotel the bathrooms were on the small side and I didn't like having to pay for parking. Overall it is a very nice hotel and I would return.”

“After reading bad reviews about this hotel, I was worried. I felt we got a fair deal with the price through priceline. I would have been upset if I had paid more. The parking rate was unfair. But, we did enjoy our stay. We didn't really ask for anything from the hotel, except a clean room. We got a really spacious room with a nice view.”

“The hotel is centrally located in downtown Portland, but it is an old hotel and does not warrant its 3 stars. They did not have any no-smoking rooms available so the stay was unpleasant.”

“This is hotel is a cross between a great old hotel and an old dorm room. The closet seems bigger than the bathroom in our room. The room was large and it looked like most rooms were large on the floor plan but each room had a different footprint, this is not a cookie cutter hotel. Our room had a view of air conditioners and the $16.60 parking garage if you get your ticket stamped at the front desk, parking is not included. The toilet paper was rationed, bathroom mirror hung for kids, towel hanger hung for giants, bathroom door couldn't lock, closet light burnt out, TV reception was bad, TV remote had trouble with the distance from the bed to the TV, fitted sheets undersized for the bed, location must be by a homeless shelter. Heating and cooling is an problem for this hotel as the room has many windows between the heat/AC, the bed and the unit is undersized/poorly placed, noise from hallway was noticeable but not from outside the hotel. This hotel needs more maintenance staff that care about their work and first class products to put in. Tips for your stay. Elevator buttons are for display, real ones on the other side of the pillar (should be behind a framed window). Parking on street is ill advised by the hotel and me, I got a ticket for $25 at a poorly marked meter. I would give this hotel 1 1/2 stars but with new owners or a makeover it could go as high as 3 1/2.”

“Hotel staff was very pleasant. Parking was charged extra. Older hotel with history, well maintained but not pristine. Was very pleased with Priceline price.”

“This hotel was OK. The staff is polite. The room was not a three star experience. Not having a room at checkin (6:30pm) was very disappointing.”

“This hotel does not offer parking (parking is in a separate facility that charges and does not offer in/out privileges). I did not expect to have to pay an additional $15 for parking and this really changed the cost of the room considerably.”

“The Eastland Park in it's present state is not glorious, not a legend. It's a tired old hotel with better competition in Portland.”

“The carpet outside of the bathroom door area was wet and the comforter had several unknown stains on it. I was not impressed with this room. Went to the lounge on the top floor of the hotel for drinks and to enjoy the view of the city. The drinks were good and the view was exceptional. Had no problem with any of the staff. The hotel is a much older hotel and it'd be great to see it refurbished and brought back to its original beauty.

“This hotel is in an excellent location within Downtown Portland. Old Port is in walking distance and the Arts District is right around the corner. The rooms are nice as well as the staff. I would definitely stay here again.”

“Very nice, well run old hotel. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was clean. You can't go in and out of the parking garage without incurring a fee each time. On site restaurant was good. The elevators were not working.”
