“The hotel was easy to find, and check-in was fast! We slept very little all night due to a heater that cycled on and off for about 1 min every 20 minutes (we had turned the heater OFF before going to bed). This resulted in very little sleep in an otherwise very nice room!”

“Warmest pool we have EVER been in. "Continental" breakfast had everything we could ever want--eggs, bacon, fruit, breads, juice, cereals! LOVE the rooms--plenty of room to relax, socialize, work on computer. Extremely friendly staff--when the pool closed for maintenance they happily gave us a key to the hotel pool next door along with their apology. Comfortable beds, good water pressure in the shower. Much nicer than many of the 3-star hotels we have stayed in around New England!”

“We loved the pool area and they really enjoyed the breakfast. I loved the size of the room and the fact it had a little kitchenette to keep drinks and snacks in. Had a great time and can't wait to do this again.”

“Nice rooms - complimentary continental breakfast - pool and fitness center available - good location near Maine Mall, the airport, and the city of Portland and Old Port. I was able to get to all shopping places and to my family event with ease. It's not too far from the Sea Dogs' stadium.”

“The hotel was nice. Room was clean and large with a comfortable king size bed. There was a hockey tournament in Portland and there were many families staying at the hotel that were very noisy in early evening. They did settle down after 9:30 or so.”

“There were numerous small issues-refrigerator set at freezing with no dial to adjust, 5 TV stations- 1 was snowy, carpet could have been cleaner; front desk staff poorly trained and slow to respond to these issues; phone system was out the night prior to our arrival and the hotel did not notify holiday Inn customer service; hotel has potential but needs better management and training of front desk staff.”

“The Marriott in Portsmouth, NH, however, was excellent with no noise from elevator. The sink area was separated from sleep area. At the Holiday Express in Portland, the elevator was often noisy, as was the hallway traffic (un-insulated walls).”

“I was pleasantly surprised by the hotel, in terms of its newness and cleanliness (no stains, no holes in the bedding, nothing in disrepair), the room set up (bed separated from couch and desk, kitchenette), the great continental breakfast, and the shower supplies. We will stay here again for sure.”

“We were just staying about 10 hours in hotel. I was very pleasantly surprised by our room. Expecting a room and had a suite. It was very clean and well decorated. Was not directly off highway, however, hotel personnel gave me excellent directions. Would definitely stay again.”

“Was woken in the middle of the night at 2 a.m. By a faulty fire alarm and had to evacuate to the parking lot in pouring rain. No hotel staff ever offered instructions, explanation or apology. We waited 45 minutes before being allowed to go back to our rooms. No apology, refund or discount was ever offered. All the hotel guests were bleary eyed at breakfast the next morning. A horrible experience.”
