  • Location.
  • Cost of dining.

“Excellent hotel as a base for visiting Boston, close to all of the main attractions but will need taxi if traveling with significant luggage ( no shuttle bus to airport & 5 minis from the T).”

  • The comfort and decor of the room was lovely. It was quite spacious.
  • Coffee maker was difficult to access. There was a lot of noise outside when the bars closed.

  • The staff was very friendly and accommodating.
  • Because this is an old restored hotel, the public facilities were very small, almost non existent.

  • Great location! Very comfortable.
  • The pull-out couch was uncomfortable.

“The staff was so great – they upgraded us to a suite, so my girlfriend and I had the bedroom and our 2 daughters used the connecting room with a pull-out couch.”

  • Room was beautiful and huge!
  • No parking! Valet was rude and no one could leave a car to check in - in downtown.

“Hotel was great, room was beautiful. However, the valet would not let you leave a car to check-in. I was arriving by myself and was forced to find a meter somewhere in the area at 4pm on a Friday in downtown Boston. For a "4-star" hotel, this service was not what i expected.”

  • Great room. Great Location. Friendly Staff.
  • Everything was great.

“First time to Boston and the hotel was perfect location for seeing the town. Several attractions within walking distance, and others within a short cab ride. Hotel was clean and the staff was friendly and helpful. It was a great help that they could print our boarding passes for us so we did not have to stand in line at the airport.”

  • The hotel staff was awesome and upgraded us to an empty King Suite.

“Perfect spot for to tour downtown Boston. I would reccomend it to anyone.”

  • The location to quincy markey was great.
  • Hotel room was very smoky smelling.

“When we checked in they said there were no rooms left with 2 beds so they upgraded us to a 2 room suite at no charge which was great!!! Only bad thing was the room was very smoky smelling.”

  • Friendly Staff.
  • No pool, no gym -not worth the money.

“Elevator stops on each floor. Takes 10 mins at least to get down from the top floor. Room not well air conditoned and no pool/gym on site. Not worth the money and not a 4 or 5 star.”

  • Valet parking took an hour to receive my car and was quite rude about it.

  • Everyone was friendly, professional, and helpful. It is a beautiful hotel, in a perfect setting.
  • Price of breakfast was a bit steep.

“A beautiful hotel, so close to wonderful Irish pubs, that serve great Irish meals. Very people friendly. They give the best directions, and provide many helpful hints. So close to all I wanted to see. I would go again, and again.”

  • Central location; great convenience; friendly staff; accommodating; quiet atmosphere despite being in the city & having renovation.
  • Needs better air conditioning in rooms like in the lobby; better drainage in sink/tub (very slow).

“I would return w/o problem & recommend to friends. Location is ideal for business & travelers. Staff is friendly & cordial. Room very nice; well kept; comfortable bed.”

  • The hotel was very convenient to Fanueil Hall, the subway, and other sites of interest.
  • The rooms were not well ventilated -- the hallways were at least 10 degrees cooler/more comfortable than the rooms. Construction noise during the day.

  • Walking distance to most everything downtown.
  • Room air conditioner did not work, stay in room 80+ degrees for one night.

“Hotel was completely sold out. Room air was broken. Staff was slow to respond, took many hours from our vacation time. Management did move us to a suite the second day, but that took three hours from that days touring. Hotel security was rude when we kept our door open to get cool air from hallway. Guess they didn't like to hear a baby cry from the heat of our room. They could have offered free night to replace the first ruined night.”
