  • Very pleasant young lady that greeted us up arrival.
  • Did not stay long enough.

“This is a fabulous hotel, convenient to all attractions. Very spacious and warm rooms. The views were spectacular.”

  • The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful.
  • The housekeeping dept. Did a good job but we have to ask to have the room cleaned because we had the do not disturb sign on in the morning?

“The Copley Square hotel had a friendly, polite staff, big, clean rooms (for a city hotel) and helpful front desk personnel. It exceeded our expectations.”

  • Great location.
  • Was a little out dated and dingy?

“I am very disappointed that I had to pay 40 bucks extra to have more than one bed in the room. That is unacceptable. I recently stayed at a Sheraton and they didn't charge extra to have more than one bed in the room. No excuse at all for that.”

  • It was close to the office.
  • Very old needs updating (bed spread, Curtin, rug, bathroom) very disappointed!

“I was very, very disappointed with the quality of the room. When I first walked into the room it had this old dusty moldy smell. The bathroom toilet did not working properly.”

“Hotel did not look anything like they had on the website. Rooms are very small. When we first checked in, the room was somewhat dirty (i.e. Hair in the sink, trash on the floor).”

  • First room was a smoking room; discussing and run down. 2nd room better, but not great.

“I was extremely disappointed in the room. It was run down and obviously a smoking room. I did not feel comfortable staying there. After 3 requests we were finally moved to another room which was better, but not great. The location was definitely the best part. I would not stay here again. We had stayed in town as a treat and it ended up a hassle. I was really disappointed and passed along our experience to a number of friends and colleagues.”

  • Charming, rooms have character, very comfortable bed.
  • Slight mildew or musty smell near bathroom sink.

“My room was spacious and decorated beautifully the bed was comfortable and the bathroom was clean and new. This is an old hotel, the rooms are not cookie cutter style, and they have character and charm. Very convenient Copley square location. I'd return without hesitation. Only drawback, parking is expensive.”

  • Because it was an older hotel, the room sizes varied greatly.

  • Great location, free wireless internet.
  • Room not in the best of shape, bathroom a bit moldy.

“The hotel is in a great location and close to 2 t stops. There is a 24 hour supermarket within steps of the hotel. They provide free wireless internet, which is a big plus. The bed was a bit small and the room seemed outdated. The bathroom was very small and there was mold in the shower tiles. They provide soap & lotion dispensers instead of the regular hotel toiletries.”

  • Very run down and shabby rooms, poor heating, very old and not kept up.

“Hotel is due for renovation in 2008. Rooms they are providing now are not at all suitable to be called 3 stars. Shabby with wall paper falling down, old furniture and fittings and few amenities, no business center. I would not stay there again.”

  • The location is excellent.
  • Bathroom moldy.

“Dowdy dowager. Facilities and decor dated (maybe as far back as the '70s). Lobby public areas smelled faintly of cigarette smoke. Room was small and dark and did not have a clock or radio. The bath surfaces were clean but the tile was cracked, the amenities came from wall mounted dispensers like you would find at the gym and the tub caulking was moldy.”

  • Convenience and proximity to Haynes Convention Center.
  • Insects found in room had to request another.

“As mentioned above, the primary benefit was the proximity to the Convention center. On the down side, I was put up in a smoking room (which was not mentioned) and I found insects in my room. Although they promptly moved me to another upon complaining, I should not have been put in that situation. As a business traveler, I should not have to pay for Internet access. In the entire hotel would be well served to do some simple repairs (i.e. paint, upgrades etc.) as it appears to have some potential. Until this occurs, I probably would not stay at this establishment again.”

“My husband and I enjoyed our overnight stay. Having traveled in Europe, we found this smaller, but quaint room to our liking. The furniture was classic; the bathroom had genuine antique tile. What some people might find "out of date" or in need of refurbishing, we truly did find charming. The location is great for walking in the Back Bay area. We easily walked to Fenway Park. We would stay again, and recommend the hotel.”

  • Close to Copley square.
  • They don't have heat in the winter.

“They changed the thermostat but the heat still didn't work. When I complained the next morning they said I should have called in the night and they would have switched me to another room, I had already done this once and was told there were no other rooms available as the hotel was full. Had breakfast the following morning in the hotel. Food was cold and room temperature was cold. Hotel was not dirty but was "worn". Very disappointed seeing that I paid for a 3* and got a 1*.”

  • Located above a loud club that kept us up late.

“I thought this hotel was fine but I was expecting more for a 3 star hotel. It is definitely not one star below the Fairmont or the Ritz. I would stay here again for a cheaper price. Without any amenities it's not worth the price we paid.”

  • Location and nearby restaurants, shops.
  • Not as clean as I expected, very confusing/busy intersection.

“The Copley Square Hotel is undergoing a needed renovation for the rooms. The location is great for shoppers with the prudential center around the corner. Lots of great restaurants in the area as well. The street intersection it is on is very confusing so be careful driving.”
