  • Location and proximity to public transportation.
  • Paying for parking and noisy revelers in the corridors.

  • Odd smells and lack of temperature control.

  • Across the street from Fenway Park.
  • Housekeeping staff do not speak English.

“Arriving to the room there was a used washcloth and soap still in the bathroom, notified front desk, nothing was done that night to clean. Housekeeping entered our room 3 times unannounced to check the room but when they saw we were in the room, they turned around and left, and did not check the room for cleanliness. Would I recommend this hotel: no, but it's close to Fenway!”

  • Humidity in room/super loud air conditioning.

“Situated on a busy road right next to the stadium. if there is a game, it gets pretty noisy/exciting depending on whether you like baseball or not! Prudential centre and the park are in walking distance (about 15 min.). Subway from there to the centre very convenient. Room was humid and air conditioning very noisy. Rather cheap looking overall.”

  • Right next to Fenway and within walking distance to plenty of bars and restaurants.
  • Pretty sketchy looking.

“You can tell it's an old hotel, it needs a lot of remodeling. Despite that, however, it was still a clean place and it did what I needed, a place to pass out drunk after hitting the bars in Boston. It's right next to Fenway and there's parking so that was pretty amazing too!”

“This hotel was in a great location. (right next to Fen way Park and walking distance to downtown.) The rooms were adequate and clean. Even worse, nothing was done after I reported this to the hotel staff.”

  • Pillows were awful like sleeping on cotton balls!

  • It was in a good location, close to everything.
  • The heat didn't work well.

“It was very outdated, needed lots of work. The heat didn't work very well. It was cool, not cold. And we had to pay to park there. It was very dark and dreary.”

  • Convenience of restaurant & lounge & we were upgraded to king.
  • No Red Sox game on cable TV in room.

“The only disappointment was that we couldn't watch the Red Sox game in hotel room since cable didn't get. This was a surprise since this was the Howard Johnson Fenway. I hope they upgrade the cable TV.”

  • Hallway smelled not so nice.

  • I got out without catching a terminal disease.
  • Filthy, rude, expensive, staff laying on every available couch.

“This was the worst hotel I've stayed in for a long time, the staff was the most slovenly, customer unfriendly group I've ever encountered. The owner needs to fire everyone and start with someone who cares to run a hotel.”

  • It was really close to fen way.
  • It was grimy and hot.

“They made my sister pay for parking even though she was a guest. The carpets smelled musty and there was little to no ac in the hallways. It was so hot that day too. The room was ok. I was too afraid to take a good look at the linens. By the time I went to bed, I was too tired to care so I guess it all worked out.”

  • The location. Could walk to shops, short cab to bars/restaurants.
  • Said it had internet access, but only in the lobby.

“It did the job for a business trip when I was rarely there but I was not impressed. My hairdryer in the room broke on my last day there, and I had to get a key to a different room to use another one. Someone attempted to open my door one night and got the latch undone but luckily it was double-bolted. Also, I could not connect internet in my room. When I called the front desk the employee did not sound surprised and suggested I try the lobby. I would not want to work in a hotel lobby all week; privacy of my own room is the key.”
