“This hotel was classy, elegant, and fun to stay at. The pool was beautiful, although there was way too much chlorine in the water and I had to stop swimming laps because I didn't have goggles. There was a sauna I didn't have time to use. We didn't know that there was a $20 per night extra charge for rooms facing the Charles River - that made us angry. Ironically, our air conditioner started leaking at 10 pm and they were forced to move us to a river facing room. Our dinner in the hotel restaurant was delicious, but a little pricey. My martini was $10. The only choice for breakfast was a $20 buffet. Parking was $35 a night. There were two bottles of water in the room, with notes that our room would be charged $5 for each one we opened, so we got ice from the machine in the hall and used tap water. This made me cranky. We felt pampered and relaxed. Very comfortable beds.”

“Comfortable bed and linens. There was a shabby feel to the room and furnishings. Air conditioner blew in dank smelling musty air. First room had a soaking wet floor- was given another room. Location is great. Parking was a bit high, though in line with Downtown Boston hotel parking charges.”

“Great hotel, but going through a buffet line to get to and from the room was not fun. We were bumping into people on our way to checkout.”

“I really liked this hotel, it was open, staff was friendly and the bed was incredibly comfortable. It was a close 15 min. walk to Fen way Park. I would for sure stay here again. The only bad things were the $35 parking. But overall it was a great hotel.”

“Everything was beautiful. They upgraded our room to River view. It would have been a great perk if the buffet was included!”

“I have been in other Hyatt hotels, where you really feel in a very special place. This Hyatt had rooms that you can find in a 2 star hotel. I like it to be next to the memorial Dr running trail, but it is far from metro stations, take a taxi.”

“The hotel is nice if you plan to stay there and not explore Boston; nice facilities but unless you rent a car, it's very isolating. Many hotels have loads of information for tourists to direct them to sites and information about getting around, but this standard information was not to be found.”

“Great view. Great service. Did not like the parking situation. Mandatory parking of $35.00 a day, in addition to room fee.”

“I stayed here for vacation. It is very close to Fenway, Harvard and Boston College. The Boston Commons and Quincy Market along with Newberry Street are not far. In fact this place is a good way to save money. Loved every bit of it.”

“This hotel could be very nice, but the rooms opening up to an indoor walkway that looks out into the restaurant and bar. This might not be a problem for rooms higher up, but our room was very noisy throughout the night.”

“Overall it was a good experience. The bed was very comfortable, the room was adequately sized. However, the grimy carpet and stained bathroom both detracted from the visit.”

“Staff was friendly. Free van drop off at Kendall Subway, which is also where all 3 local troller tours have stops. Parking is a little pricey, but there is really no street parking available.”

“Overall, this was the worst hotel stay I have ever had period. We checked in and they gave us a terrible room on the bottom floor. The room smelled like smoke, carpet was filthy. We asked for a room change. The next room was higher up, but shabby at best. There were iron stains and rust stains on the carpet. The ceiling looked dingy with water seeping. We didn't want to make a fuss, so we dealt with it. We went for dinner, came back and our room was dripping water from every which way. There was a huge water leak. We were forced to evacuate. We then were put in yet another room which was okay. The buffet breakfast was terrible. Eggs were cold as ice, no more bread or bagels were available and we went at 9am! Coffee was cold. Just terrible.”

“Great hotel, great staff. The room had no tub, which we didn't know in advance, and the bathroom was a bit small. There was no fan in the bathroom, either.”

“The front desk assured us that a package we handed them which had a preprinted ups label attached would be shipped that day. The staff was very nice but the overall facilities are worn well beyond there years, rugs are worn and smell, and general feeling is that maintenance is a secondary consideration.”

“I found a mouse on my fourth floor room and was pretty much disappointed at that point. The staff did a good job of moving me to another room, but I would have expected a little more for such an inconvenience.”

“This is not a quality Hyatt. Corporate needs to update it. I had to call the housekeeping dept to change my comforter. Had visible stains on it.”

“Nice hotel, location could be better. It's a 20 minute walk to the T, so if you don't drive you have to pay $6 for cab fair every time you leave since the hotel shuttle is total crap. They won't take luggage and close at 6. If you do have a car, parking is $35 per night.”
