“While the hotel was close to the Tson gas center the quality was poor. Rooms run down and unclean. We left for our son's graduation at 9 am and returned at 3 pm There were no towels and the room had not been cleaned. After asking twice the maid finally brought us clean towels and we never saw her again. There was something on the chair and bedspread that looked like body fluid. We removed them from the room. We will not be returning to this hotel again.”

“
This is not even a 1 star hotel - never mind the 3 start it is claimed to be. My room was dirty, outdated and smelled like it had not been occupied for 10 years - it seems that it might not have been cleaned in that long. The carpet was so bad I was uncomfortable taking my socks off.

“I would not recommend. It is a great location and would be a great hotel if it was run properly and add adequate staff. I almost felt sorry for the staff they had because they were so over worked. I hope the hotel gets its act together. I am surprised that Hilton affiliates its name with it. Overall a very tired and poorly run location.”

“We stayed at this hotel 2 years ago, and it has drastically deteriorated since then. It is not well maintained, things are missing, and broken in many of the rooms hairdryers, light switches, security locks etc. (Our group had 25 rooms)Towels were not replenished properly, the hallways were dirty, and stayed dirty four days on end. I barely got any sleep during our 4 day stay because of constant banging of doors, loud talking, and carrying on in the hallways. I could hear every word that was spoken in the room next door. The walls are paper thin. I think the low prices have made an impact on the quality of the clientèle which would account for a lot of the noise, and destruction.”

“This hotel was pathetic, the carpets were dirty the first room had no bed and had garbage everywhere, they moved us to another room, but the toilet had streaks and the carpets were dirty. Wouldn't stay there again.”

“This hotel has a mix of features - some upscale some closer to my experiences in moderately-priced hotels. Example, the beds and bedding were luxurious and very comfortable but the furniture in the room was non-descript and worn. Decor was tired, dated. The lobby and public areas were beautifully maintained and decorated--more fitting for an upscale hotel than the room itself. The bath was well stocked with Nutregena products (a nice touch) and plenty of fluffy clean towels. The view of the canal and lock system and the downtown area of Lowell was beautiful. I ordered room service and the food was disappointing. It took the staff over 24 hours to clear the tray from the hallway. A mixed bag but I would certainly return. Next time I'll walk to one of the local eateries for lunch instead of ordering in!”

“I think we got the worst of the guest rooms. We were not happy with the cleanliness of the room. However, otherwise it was a very pleasant stay and we might stay again if we are in the area.”

“Older hotel that looks like the rooms/common areas could use some TLC. Funky smell even in the non smoking rooms. Restaurant could use alot of help. Only ate breakfast there and it was poor.

“Nice place, had internet troubles all along and not much for assistance. $10 a day for internet service is way to much these days. Restaurant and lounge were nice, but food could stand some improvements.

“This hotel has security but, all they do is guard the lobby and not the cars that are in there parking lot. Was very disappointed in the way they handled things.

“It was great. The view of the canal and warm cookies were excellent. The nice lady at the desk knew her job. The internet didn't work after calling the 800 number but the pool facilities made up for that. Refunded wifi upon leaving. Room service was good also”

“Though you can clearly see the hotel sign from the street, the actual entrance is hidden from the main road. Better signage for the turn off is needed. Otherwise, this was a very lovely hotel and I wished I had booked both nights of my trip here.”

“I was surprised at the low quality of the Double Tree. The Hampton Inn and Suites in Bedford, NH was much nicer and cleaner.”

“Stayed for a week and on two different nights the room was not made up the next morning. Even after complaining to management room upkeep was marginal at best.”

“Stayed at this hotel several times. Usually a good experience. First bad experience was on this trip. The non-smoking room (on a non-smoking floor) was filled with smoke from the ventilation system. Complained to the front desk, but no alternate accommodation was made.”
