  • The bath room is clean and heated and plenty of hot water for shower.
  • The wall mounted air conditioning/heater unit is very noisy when in use.

“The staffs are very helpful, the front door leading to the building needs a buzzer lock, fix or replace air conditioning/heater unit if possible.”

  • Location. Size of room. Refrigerator/microwave.
  • Mold on ceiling and shower head, wall paper falling off walls.

“Terrible room staff, when I commented on condition did nothing. Said Oh.”

Cleanliness:[7] • Staff:[10] • Location:[10]

  • Location & friendly staff.
  • No waffle machine, Bick fords Restaurant was closed, room smelled smoky.

“The Days Inn is well located at the intersection of routes 95 and 395. It is a little outdated and could use some sprucing up, but the staff made up in friendliness for the slight shabbiness of the rooms. We had a late arrival and the management team were very pleasant and kind to us.”

  • The radio/alarm was poor quality, the coffee maker didn't work.

“Convenient, clean, comfortable, accommodating, in room fridge & microwave. Much more than we expected from a 2 1/2 or even 3 star rating.”

  • Not enough space to describe it.

“It was the most dirty, unclean hotel I've ever visited. The bathroom could not be used it was so dirty. The floor was dirty. Even the coffee pot had not been cleaned, The front door to the hotel had duct tape on it. The place had such a bad odor to it that my wife had an allergic reaction to it and we could not stay there. ”

Cleanliness:[7] • Staff:[7] • Location:[6]

  • Clean enough.
  • Too many people making noise. Bad odor in hallway.

“It's just okay. Nothing extravagant. Clean room. Wouldn't stay for a week or something. Weekend is good.”

Cleanliness:[2] • Staff:[5] • Location:[3]

  • Staff somewhat speaks English.
  • Run down hotel that needs major re-facing.

“This hotel needs a major down grade from it's 2 star to 0.5 star. Landscaping looked like it hadn't been taken care of in over a month. Women who look like they were preparing for night duty out and about. Beds had deep depressions in the middle like they haven't been changed in years. Paid for a non-smoking and got a smoking room. Asked to see other rooms, all had that nice smoking odor. Oh, there is no bar/lounge there, all boarded up. Bick fords attached to Days Inn closed down. All and All. Just a run down hotel being milked. Furniture shows it's age. Doors look like they have been preyed open or busted open. Got to wonder who is putting in those ratings of 9 and 10.”

Cleanliness:[6] • Staff:[9] • Location:[6]

  • I was inexpensive and the rooms were spacious.
  • Some of the client el were questionable.

“The hotel was good for short business travel. The rooms were a little ruff, but OK. The beds were not very comfortable. All and all it qualifies as an inexpensive way to travel, but you get what you pay for.”

Cleanliness:[9] • Staff:[9] • Location:[10]

  • Good clean, location.
  • Very difficult to get non smoking room.

“Staff highly uncooperative. Insisted on single bed smoking room for family with two adults and two kids even though hotel was nearly empty, would not change. Hotel itself was good.”

Cleanliness:[7] • Staff:[9] • Location:[8]

  • Nice staff. Close to highway.
  • No internet service. No restaurant nearby.

“Very large, clean rooms, some with balconies. Unfortunately, the attached restaurant had shut down and there were few restaurants nearby. They are currently renovating, so some things need updating. No elevators, but built on a hill, so no need to climb stairs. Very accommodating staff.”

  • The location is great!
  • The shower curtain had mold on it.

“Overall it was a decent value for the location. The hotel could use a but of a touch up especially in the bathroom.”

Cleanliness:[6] • Staff:[6] • Location:[4]

  • It wasn't well mantained. Many things didn't work.

“I would rate it a 70 out of a 100. A chair was falling apart, A COUPLE OF LIGHTS DIDN'T WORK. The sink drain was slow. A chair was missing fom one of the two rooms I reserved.”

Cleanliness:[8] • Staff:[10] • Location:[8]

  • Great value, location -- responsive staff fixed problems immediately
  • Nothing but coffee in lobby, vs. cereal/juice at other Days Inns

“I am always on the lookout for an inexpensive place to stay while visiting my teenage children who live in a local town with my ex. I didn't expect to get this hotel, and was disappointed when I found I had been assigned to it. I was dead wrong. This is one of the best values in the Old Saybrook-to-New London area. The only negative was an old, badly-pilled synthetic blanket; the room was clean, the bathroom modern, the appointments nice (even a small fridge and microwave). Plenty of nearby places to eat, of all prices and menus. I was impressed by the responsiveness of the front desk -- I found a nut removed from the toilet floor mount, and a blown light bulb; both were fixed same day. This place, and the Comfort Inn in Old Saybrook, are much maligned hotels that I find entirely satisfactory. On the other hand, the former "Sandpiper" in Old Saybrook, now a "Knight's Inn," has deteriorated badly, as has the Days Inn in Old Saybrook.”
