• Although hotel was not recently updated rooms were spotless and staff was outstanding.
• A
  little old.

“The hotel is on the older side with old furnishings and the cement block exterior is not attractive. The rooms and facilities throughout the hotel were spotless and the staff was attentive and friendly. I would stay at this hotel again if I am in the area.”

“Room was very uncomfortable. Too hot. Air conditioning didn't work and hotel management would do nothing about it. This place is a dump.”

• Easy access to I-91, especially important at night on a road trip. Bed was super-comfortable. Poolside room was an unexpected pleasure.
• Hotel was noisy with a wedding party in the halls.

• We arrived very late in the evening but the desk was very friendly and accommodating.

• It was sprawled out with long corridors.

“The beds were comfortable, the room was good-sized and clean, and there were plenty of towels.Also, the hotel was very quiet.”

“A good, cheap hotel. We paid about a third of what other guests paid, and honestly, I would have been irritated if I had paid more than I did for the level of quality we got.”

• The room was very clean and parking was easy.
• The hotel is all on one floor, which doesn't seem as safe or luxurious as a multi-story building.

“If you have a car, this is a convenient location for those staying in Northampton or the area. The room and hotel indoor spaces were very clean, and service was friendly and responsive. The building looks a bit dated in style and is only one floor, so if you're looking for a view or a tower, this is not for you. For a business trip, or if you're staying in that area to visit a student, would be a fine choice.”

• This hotel is in need of a major renovation. my room smelt so bad I couldn't sleep well.

“This hotel may have been a 3 star hotel in the 1960's, but now the rooms are in need of major renovation. My room smelt like a combination of body odor and cleaning chemicals. the bad smell was so strong that I woke up in the middle of the night and could not sleep any more. I would say this hotel is only a 1 star or maybe 2 star hotel at the most. Definitely not 3 stars.”

• Staff kept me waiting to check in. Lobby check in was not easily seen in the dark.

“Had to drive around the hotel in the dark to find the lobby whcih was not well lighted up so that you know where to go. Than to make matters worst, the staff not at desk when I arrived to check in. Had to wait 20 minutes for the staff to show up.”

• Quietness even though there were quite some people.
• That there was no breakfast included and that in the pool area there were big holes in the ceiling.

“I had a wonderful experience, the hotel had a clean large room with nice lay-out. The halls were clean and during my 4 night stay I never saw clutter in the hall ways, etc. The pool was really nice with the glass dome giving a mid-summer feeling. The lobby area was adjacent to the pub area was very inviting and the staff was very friendly and courteous. Especially those working outside.”

• I liked the pool and the room was fine, it didn't include breakfast, and the breakfast looked pretty good.
• I did not like the layout, it was very large and confusing, also I could hear the people next door all night. It felt like they were in the room.

“Hotel well located near Northampton, and pretty close to Amherst. Pool nice, no hot tub. The computer was down and I really needed to use it. Room clean, staff fine. I think my only complaint is that the people next door were very loud and we had an adjoining room with them. I could hear every word of their conversation at night and again early in the am. I would caution the hotel staff about putting people in adjoining rooms when they are not together and when there were plenty of other rooms available.”

• I liked the unique and old/style of the building and rooms.
• I didn't like the fact that the bathroom was outdated and hairdryer didn't work.

“Overall, it was a comfortable hotel, a little outdated but I was able to get a very good night's sleep. The staff was friendly. The room was clean - not 5 star clean but clean.”

• Rooms were expansive and pleasantly coordinated.
• Outside entranceway was somewhat in disrepair and looked worn (mainly, outside carpeting)

“After a good hour of trying to find this hotel (my GPS sent us into the middle of an airfield) and two calls to the hotel later, we found it easily enough once the correct exit was taken. The hotel sits 100 yards of the highway, and is nicely settled far enough that no highway sounds were heard in the room. Ceilings were vaulted in the sleeping area, giving the feeling of a much larger room. Didn't have to touch the temperature controls at all. Room was very comfortable. Beds were a bit on the hard side, but the choice of two different pillows (down, and a down alternative) were a very nice touch. The bathroom was well designed, with two sinks. One on the outside of the bathroom, with a coffee maker and across from the ironing station. The shower was strong, nice and warm. Staff was very friendly upon check-in, and check-out was quick and painless. A very pleasant experience, and will be returning if I'm ever in the area.”

“In pool area, roof leaks pretty badly (indoor pool!) Housekeeping never serviced room. Room was very hot-despite running the AC in mid November. Stains on walls, stains on bed linen.”
