• The continental breakfast was just OK.

“The hotel was nice, rooms were clean, but the continental breakfast was disappointing. They only offered whole milk and the eggs looked green.”

• Helpful staff. Clean.
• Heating was difficult to adjust. Had to call the desk.

“We were quite satisfied with the accommodations. the staff was most helpful when we had trouble with the heating. They brought us ice when the ice machine was empty.”

• It needs a major updating, except for the pool area.

• Rooms that led out to a landscaped pool area were great.
• It needs a trolley or shuttle to the main attractions in Riverhead.

“Although we planned to stay only one day, our car had other plans. The staff was friendly and accommodating to our situation, giving us late check outs each day while we waited for news. We thought about changing hotels to be closer to where our car was being repaired; however, having a room with a patio that led into the outdoor pool courtyard was a bonus of this hotel. The courtyard landscaping was nicely done, giving the hotel more of a resort feel. Also, the on-site bar and grill was good for us stranded travelers. Overall, we were fortunate in an unfortunate situation.”

• This hotel was pretty nice. the desk staff were very friendly.
• We did not like the blankets that are on the beds. Other hotels that we have been to have at least two blankets that are more comfortable.

“This hotel is not bad. It does not have comfortable blankets though. The comforter is a down comforter which is not very cozy. Other than that the front desk staff was very nice and pleasant.”

• Just an average old style hotel.
• Small rooms.

• The staff were great and the bed was so comfortable.
• No dislikes, but it was not really a 3-star hotel.

“Very conveniently located off the LIE, near the Tanger Outlet Mall, and outside Downtown Riverhead (a good thing). But a little removed from the North Fork as well. This is a very good 2.5 star hotel -- great beds, comfortable rooms, clean, helpful staff. But it misses some of the extras that a 3 star has (such as a Doubletree or Courtyard). The reason this "3 stars" and the Holiday Inn Express "2.5 stars" is the BW has a restaurant and conference space, but to the typical leisure traveler that is not much of a difference. But it is a good price for the area and a comfortable stay. We'd come back.”

• Loved the pool and supplied pool toys & piped in music!
• Not enough bathroom towels.

“Great pool and continental breakfast! Nice areas to eat Breakfast. Very quiet and Clean! Very pretty place for the cost!”

• Best hotel for the price in the area.
• Being renovated, no first floor rooms available.

“Great location for the outlets, which are immediately adjacent. This is an obvious spring/summer hotel; pretty dead in the winter. Hopefully, the renovation work is done soon. I would rather have a room on the first floor.”

• Convenient to rt 495 and the north shore.
• Advertises a restaurant. Only has continental breakfast, although free would have enjoyed the option of a full service restaurant.

“In need of a face lift, some of which was on going when we were there. Halls smelled of cigarettes even though most rooms and the common areas were smoke free. It did serve our purposes, as we and other family members were attending a wedding on the north fork. The price of the hotel reflects more the lack of competition in the area than the quality of the hotel.”
