“Upon check in I was greeted at the front desk told the gentleman my name and he stated I don't have reservations with your name here needless to say after approximately 10 minutes we found my reservation. Then as my girlfriend and I walked into the room we were blown back by not a harsh odor, but an odor of some kind (not a good odor). I tried to look past it until I walked over to the fridge and almost fell to the floor due to a huge puddle of water left in front of the fridge. I opened the fridge to put something in there and once again smelled something not very pleasant same for the freezer. This caused the ice cubes in my drink to taste the way the fridge smelled. This smell was not the smell of rotting food it was something different that I can not explain. After that we went to bed and the bed was not very comfortable at all. My trip was a two night stay and I'm not saying I would never go back to another Marriott, I just don't think I would stay at the Residence Inn in Meridian, CT.”

“There was construction on the outside of the building, and we had a lot of noise in the room. In the morning there was a blackout. No TV, no internet, no light in the room. The breakfast was only partially prepared due to the blackout. Only doughnuts. No orange juice and coffee was lukewarm. It was not a pleasant stay at all.”

“My experience there was completely positive. From the well appointed one bedroom suite complete with all of the kitchen equipment I needed to the hearty, cooked breakfast and evening reception meal offered, I felt very much at home. Having this hotel as home base while in town for business greatly increased my productivity while on the job site during the day. I will stay there from now on whenever I am in the area on business. Being the owner of the company, I have decided we will also use this hotel facility for any employees we send to this area. Keep up the good work! Marriott hotels have always consistently been the best for our team to stay at and this was not an exception.”

“Overall there are an abundance of hotels in the Meridian/Walling ford area with the same star rating as the Residence Inn that I would rather stay in. Outside of hotel in need of some work. Room 815 dresser drawers in closet will not open as the door clearance is smaller than the drawers. They classify a two bedroom as a king with a pull out sofa. Bright spot was a friendly and helpful.”

“Very pleasant staff. Helpful and put us in main building since I needed to use handicapped space. Free breakfast was good, rooms clean and comfortable. We had to wait 5 min for room to be checked but it was perfect when we went up to it. Good comfortable place.”

“Very luxurious suites, clean, very well stocked. Easy to find location, property kind of spread out so would have been hard for me to get around if they didnt switch us to a room close to the parking space. (I have ms and walking can be hard) they even had refreshments in the main lobby.”

“Hotel nice for travel-business or with groups. Staff friendly. Main areas nice & 2 bedroom suites quite nice. My 1st room had bad smell staff switched us out to 2nd room. There was a different bad smell a little better than 1st room though. Staff was willing to help us switch again but there was no room to switch. Two others in my party had double rooms & their rooms were great, clean, no bad smells etc. Convenient location right off highway. Wonderful breakfast included in the stay.”

“The hotel was very clean. The furnishings in the room were not the most up-to-date, but were in good condition. The hotel was easily accessible from the highway and staff was friendly.”

“Quiet place to rest after a busy week. New haven or Hartford dining within 15 min drive. I love the layout of RI's. It is like a tiny apartment, instead of hotel.”

“This was a great hotel and the price was unbelievable. Wish I could get this type of hotel and price for a vacation. My one night stay was a tease. The staff was super friendly and the complementary breakfast in a room with a roaring fireplace was wonderful. ”

“A bit off the beaten path to get to, though not difficult. You can see it from southbound I-91, but not northbound because one needs to exit before that. It is in a residential area. One might turn around, thinking they are on the wrong road. Breakfast is very good. Room layout is convenient. The layout of the entire facility is hard to figure out. It sort of rambles and it is hard to figure out where the entrance is to particular buildings. Even the map they give you does not help.”
