• The staff was very helpful in all areas from reception to the person who cleaned our room.
• Nothing.

“We were a bit unsure as the hotel was downtown, but the receptionist said that we would be safe and we were. It was perfect for us as we walked to/from Yale University from the hotel.”

• Friendly staff, very pleasant rooms.
• Located far from central area of New Haven.

“It's across the street (a BIG street) from the waterfront, which makes it nice, but it's past walking distance to the Broadway area of New Haven where all the shops and stores are (as well as Yale).”

• The staff was friendly and helpful when I asked about a taxi and they offered me a shuttle.
• There was paper in the wastebasket but otherwise, everything was clean.

“Although the prices around New Haven seemed high to me, I am glad I selected this hotel because it was clean and convenient and the evening desk clerk was so friendly.”

• Very clean, obviously renovated. Comfortable beds.
• Lack of counter space in bathroom. Small cramped bathroom.

“I was pleasantly surprised by the hotel. Although it is old and small, it was clean and neat. A tall person though will have to duck, as the ceilings are barely 7' in the hallways! The room was clean, and although the hotel accepts pets, there was no sign or smell of pets. The continental breakfast was good, and the adjacent restaurant had good Greek and Italian food. Did have to search for snack machines, which were only on 2nd and 6th floors. Overall it was a pleasant stay.”

“This property is an excellent stop off on the way to New York city. Price is reasonable and the rooms are certainly adequate.”

• Convenient to get to off I 95, continental breakfast was good, nice eating area.
• Not a lot of parking. Our room faced some kind of truck terminal, not a lot of ambiance.

“Hotel served the purpose as a visitor to Yale, although the hotel did show some wear and tear and was a bit pricy.”

• Perimeter road location is convenient to interstate highway, but awkward to reach from city center.

• Hotel was located right off the highway.
• Did not get what I ordered for room. Dirty. Nothing near hotel to do.

“Hotel was not very accommodating. Did not receive room that was ordered. Was told hotel was booked and I had to make do. Door to room was open and TV was on when we got there. Looks like someone had been sitting on the bed. Would not recommend this hotel.”

• The room was small but interestingly laid out.
• Too much light from neon signage in the room; ice dispenser not where indicated.

“Nice place, clean and efficiently decorated, good transportation, and eating access. I would gladly stay there again.”

• I just had to stay for 3 days.
• This was a completely terrible hotel experience.

“The room was not clean when I arrived, there was loud traffic from the freeway so I could not sleep, my room was not cleaned at all on Sunday, there was very loud construction noisy at 8:30 AM on Monday, the location is inconvenient.”

• Plain decor, shower had a leak.

“The la quinta is a convenient place to stay in new haven. It is close to i-95 and close to Yale. The hotel is basic but comfortable. The staff members were friendly. The complementary breakfast with many options was a definite plus.”

• Good breakfast, good facilities, easy access to interstates 95 and 91.
• No refrigerator.

“The rooms are very comfortable with enough space. Staff was helpful and friendly. Breakfast buffet (included in room rate) was excellent for its type. We would stay there again when in the New Haven area.”

• Location surrounded by highway makes it hard to walk to city.

• The staff was very pleasant.
• The heating unit in the room was almost unbearable - cycling on and off loudly all night.

“This hotel is just off i95 and is only a few minutes away by car from downtown new haven and Yale university. There is a diner-type restaurant in the building (which we did not try) and a large Italian restaurant next door (which we also did not try). The staff was very friendly. The room was very clean, but the heater/air conditioner was awful - very loud, and cycled on and off all night long - even when we turned the unit completely off! All in all, a decent place for a decent price.”
