“The people were very friendly and accommodating. The room was clean and adequate. The breakfast was more than expected and very delightful. The pool however, left much to be desired. The pool area was very dark and dank and the water was way too cold. I think it would have been warmer if it had been outside. Overall, a nice place to stay if you are not there to swim.”

“The Rutland Ramada Inn is a hotel obviously run by professionals with a good grasp of the need to be attentive to detail. The room was clean and attractive. All the appliances worked well every time. The staff was helpful and friendly and acted as thought they were glad to have me as a guest. I would be glad to stay there again.”

“The hotel staff was very accommodating and friendly but the heater in the room (under the window) was not working. They had put a small radiator in the room but it certainly did not heat up the room at all. We didn't ask for them to fix the heat or change rooms but I am sure if we did, they would have had no problem moving us. We were just too tired. The hotel was "under construction" while we were there, so I understand.”

“The motel is located in an excellent location. Everything is very close by. I liked the fact that it had a pool, which was my major reason for choosing this motel over the others. Unfortunately, there were far too many people with young children staying there this time, so the pool was inaccessible, regardless of the time of day. (I was there for two full days.) The room was reasonable, but "cheap" could not describe the furniture. The table in the room would move back and fourth more than one foot in any direction, the arms on the chairs could actually be removed from the chair itself, and I had to take the mattress off the bed to put the frame back together myself. The motel boasts "cable", but what I found was static on nearly every channel. In fact, there were only about two channels I could actually watch. The phone in the room did not work. It's not a big deal since I had a cell phone with me anyway, but it could be a major inconvenience to anyone that doesn't have their own phones.”

“This hotel was convenient for skiing and the staff was nice, but the hotel was dirty. The room was large and the beds comfortable, but there was mold in the shower, paint peeling off the ceiling, wallpaper peeling off, curtains falling down, no headboard on the second bed, dirty stained carpet. I would not stay here again.”

“The hotel was very dirty; the cleaning staff was not friendly. The hotel allowed dogs in the room. The only nice thing was the clerk that changed us to a better room - meaning non smoking. Still dirty anyway.”

“A very good place for an inexpensive, short stay. Friendly, helpful staff, very close to good dining, as well as 24 hour grocery and convenience stores. Although it was on a busy, commercial street, it was very close to some very beautiful wilderness / scenery. I would recommend it for families and business travel.”

“We had three rooms. Recently we were assigned a wonderful new Ramada near the great Smokey mountains. This one reminded us of how low that chain has generally sunk. Carpeting from the stone age. Yuk! Noisy drink machines and acs. Tiny over crowded breakfast room. Night manager, an Indian, was very polite and helpful though, and fixed a wee hours room change away from those drink machines.”

“Showing signs of age, water stains on ceiling-old furniture showing wear-ancient air conditioner with on, off & heat button, no other controls. Unworkable ice machines in public areas. Room with adjoining locked door made it seem less than safe.”

“For the past 4 years, I have regularly visited Rutland Vermont every 3-4 months from the UK and have always made a point of staying at the Ramada inn in Rutland Vermont because until this visit it has always been clean looking and the staff polite. This time I found it grubby looking in the hallways where the carpets were badly wrinkled up which could cause an accident and looked as if they needed hovering, and the staff, apart from the breakfast lady and the receptionist just stood around chatting in the hallway. It seems that there has been a change of management or something, and I won't be staying there on future visits.”

“The hotel is located in a very convenient location; many supermarkets, general stores, gas stations, and restaurant near by. It is also not too far away from Killington ski resort (12 miles away). However, the queen size bed seems like a twin size and the room is fairly smaller than other hotel rooms I have been stayed. The hotel does not have wi-fi wireless or high speed internet access.”

“The staff was fine and the location was great, but the hotel still had the outside entrances into the rooms. I guess it was a re-vamped motel. Even though the exterior door appeared to be locked, it still made me feel a little uneasy, because I was traveling alone with my children.”

“Overall it is a decent hotel for the rate they are offering. Complimentary breakfast and the friendliness of the staff are plus. The sink in our room was clogged, which was very inconvenient. We arrived late, and we had already unpacked so we did not change the room. But they should have taken care of this. It could have been a very big inconvenience for a business traveler or for a family. Location is convenient if you are visiting multiple cities in the area and stopping for just sleeping. But if you are looking for a nice walking area, or nice restaurants and shops really close by, I would not recommend it.”
