• My experience was terrible because of the in-room theft.
• Theft from my room by the motel staff.

“Money was stolen from my room. I went to the front desk as soon as I realized it and acknowledged it was stupid for my daughter to leave $50 in quarters (I brought them to her to use at the coin-operated laundry in her apt. building), but nonetheless it isn't unreasonable to expect security either. I asked who had access to my room, and he replied only the housekeeper. I waited until the next morning so that the owner and front-desk manager could talk to her. She, of course, denied stealing the money. I made a report with the Lenox, MA, police, and an officer indeed interviewed the housekeeper, who continued to deny taking the money. The fact remains that someone from the Howard Johnson's Inn who had access to my room stole the money. The management did not seem concerned about it at all, which added insult to injury. The hotel is aging -- and not well -- but it is clean. My stay there, however, was completely unsatisfactory and I would not recommend it to anyone.”

• We were given the best room in the place far from street notice, on 2nd level, last room in a row.
• The continental breakfast was very lack luster.

“This motel is very adequate for a brief stay over a night or weekend. Staff was very friendly. Room was large and clean. Bed was comfortable. Plenty of parking Close to ski places and other attractions in the region. Free continental breakfast was adequate but could be more exciting and displayed better.”

“We arrived at 1:00 as our confirmation said that's when the room would be available. We were told the room was not ready. I asked if a bathroom was available. I was told I could use a storage facility or something so I said never mind. Our room had a non working sauna. Asked for another room. Was told it would be extra. Finally was given another room that was supposed to be non smoking and stunk. Stayed in original room with non working sauna and was not happy. Management very unwilling to make things write and denied that check in time was 1 and insisted it was 2. Just not a good customer service oriented place. Not very clean and was not go back.”

• I was pleasantly surprised by the facility.
• Outside doors.

“Usually hotels like this (older, outside doors) are somewhat tawdry, but this room was well appointed & nicely laid out. The fridge & microwave were an added touch , as was a couch, chair, tale & desk. Will return for future visits”

• The double queen room we stayed in was very spacious.
• The heat was not on in our room when we arrived and it was very cold!

“The staff was very courteous and extremely helpful. I called ahead of time to ensure that we could get the room we wanted which was a double queen. They stated if they had it available they would certainly switch us, which they did. The room was very clean and very spacious. We will stay here again.”

• Great location, terrific room, microwave and fridge.
• Grumpiest manager we've ever encountered.

“Our second stay here (we had 3 rooms) and while we really like the rooms and location, for the second time the manager got his facts wrong (he can never be corrected, it seems) and really bit our heads off. Just so wacky that we laughed about it later, but brace yourselves.”

• Convenient location for business travel.
• Wireless didn't work!

“Hotel itself was fine in regards to convenient location, staff, and price. I was traveling for business and it was necessary for me to have wireless and my wireless never worked while at the hotel.”

• It was a good hotel, it was what we wanted.
• The pool was closed, but the weather was still warm.

“I was traveling with my Mom, so everything had 2 B "perfect", she is elderly (76) and disabled, she is also very "picky". She found nothing 2 complain about. That pretty much says it all!”

• Reasonably priced in a relatively expensive area.
• Hotel had a fairly basic feel about it and all else was OK.

• Breakfast wasn't terrible.
• Manager came off as mean but helped.

“The bed in the room was awful. We also were reserved a smoking room when we did not want one. The manager of the hotel seemed mean in his mannerisms, but was helpful, and moved us to a non-smoking room. Great location in the area!”

• Typically, the front desk people are pleasantly hospitable, friendly.
• There is an unexpected high level of street noise late at night; better seals on doors might reduce.

“We've stayed here at least 6 times in the past year or so-typically for 1 or 2 nights-and will likely continue to stay here as we need to visit nearby relatives. Proximity to very good restaurants is a plus as well.”
