• Quiet-everything worked-had night watchman.
• trash at bottom of stairwell in morning-no secure bicycle parking.

“Front desk staff pleasant and very helpful-The landscape service mowed and blew off sidewalks but never picked up all the trash by the parking lot fences. Overall stay was o.k. but I wish I had a non smoking room.”

• They moved us into a non-smoking rooms upon our request.
• They used chair cushions for the crib mattress that they could not apparently find.

“Under going a remodel. The continental breakfast ladies was on the ball. For the family surprise birthday party that we were attending in Holbrook as well as visiting other family on Long Island, NY it worked out well.”

• The pool was not usable.

“Nothing worked. The shower, the TV Remote. Holes in the walls. We had to switch rooms. I supposed non-smoking room smelled like smoke.”

• Old, tacky and smelly. Lights in bathroom did not work.

“This Hotel is way past its prime and not very well looked after. I got in late so couldn't be bothered to change rooms because of the light. At least the bed was comfortable.”

• Beds were too soft, prefer harder mattress

“The hotel was exactly what we expected. When we were traveling to the airport for our flight, we called to confirm and they had no reservation, thank God we did and they still had a room!”

• It was right off the highway.
• They did not provide the amenities that the room was to come with and no internet.

“I called two days prior to my stay at the hotel to confirm they have the reservation. I asked them about the features that room had. It was a basic room but was to have an iron, ironing board, and it was a smoking room. The room had no iron in it, no ash trays, no ironing board, no ice bucket, and the key cards expired everyday. I would come back from my employment there and could not get back into my room. I would have to go and get the card activated again. I am a business traveler and there was no internet available either. That was a major frustration. I was just disappointed in the overall experience of the hotel itself. I could have stayed at a closer hotel, I found out later, for the same price that had internet, ash trays, ice buckets, keys that you do not have to renew daily, etc. The price was good, the service was just less than desirable for what I am used to traveling for the same prices.”

• It was a nice hotel for the price and conveniently located.
• The bathroom could have used to be cleaned better.

“The staff at this hotel were very nice, they were very helpful with any problems that I had. The bathroom was a little dirty, but overall it worked out for our use.”

• Clothes Stolen from my Room, no pool and missing furniture in rooms

“False advertising. Pool has been out of commission over a year now. No water and mud at bottom. I was very dis-satisfied. Also, improperly furnished. Missing furniture in most rooms. Furthermore, I had some clothes stolen out of my room. I felt violated and unsafe.I will never recommend the Howard Johnsons in Commack to anyone.”

• this is the worst dump i have ever stayed in ,the staff has a horrible attitude, I left & checked into another hotel paying for two hotels, horrible
• the staff, no towels,second night no sheets no towels, horrible horrible attitude,pool closed,shabby old dump

• pleasant workers, nice continental breakfast
• musty smell, bad mattresses, poor maintenance, looks like the place is dingy, falling apart. The pool had green water with tree debris all over

• Any issues we had, such as TV remote not working, they fixed right away fro us
• They were doing renovations @ 730am, & did not appreciate coming back @ 10pm to our back door wide open

“We were pretty much satisfied with the hotel & its location, We would stay there again. They put out a very nice continental breakfast for their guests. I understand renovations (ripping up carpet) need to be done however @ 730 am, I think it would have been nice to notify the guests beforehand.”
