• Rooms were clean and well-appointed. There was even a green plant in the room!
• The rooms were not open to the outside. Doors were in an inside corridor with no outside access.

“Clean and very comfortable. I would definitely stay there again.”

• I liked the hotel staff. They were courtesy and check-in was quick.
• The hotel itself was fine.

“Upon entry into the hotel lobby I was immediately welcomed by both employees behind the counter. Check-in took approximately 2-3 minutes to complete. I asked for something close to the main lobby and was granted this request. I was pleased with the level of service overall. The hotel facilities (restaurant, bar and restrooms) were very clean.”

• Sinks did not drain well, TV had fading color.

“Would never recommend the Holiday Inn in Plainview, NY. No security, poor quality furnishings. For what they charged for the room I felt I got robbed of a good stay. Marriott is far superior to the Holiday Inn.”

• Upon check-in I was responded to quickly and in a friendly manner by the hotel staff.
• I did not like the lack of customers in the hotel bar as it was absolutely dead.

“I feel that I consistently receive adequate to slightly better than average service and accommodations while staying at Holiday Inns. This particular hotel has great employees, but no additional thrills that make it an experience to rave about. The hotel maintenance team does a nice job.”

• The rooms were great and clean. The customer service was wonderful!
• The hallways were very old and the carpet in the hall was dirty.

“The hotel has great clean rooms that's what really important to me and the customer service on the main desk wonderful people. The negative is the hotels looks a bit old and the hall ways kind of old and dirty. But over all great experience I will go back and stay there again with no problem.”

• Very dated decor and amenities; over-priced restaurant; non-functioning electrical outlets.

“If this is a 2.5 star hotel, then a 1 star isn't fit for a rat. Definitely not worth the price. I had a better experience at the Hampton Inn in Syosset.”

• The loudness of the music from the club in the lobby was painfully loud.

• We were upgraded to a suite.
• I am not crazy about the way Holiday it sets up its hotels, with catacomb like hallways that link their rooms around the perimeter of the lobby.

“This hotel sits at the top end of the three-star classification. The decor was Long Island beige. The room was clean.”

• Toothpaste and toiletries left home we provided free.
• Drop ceiling in the bathroom. Was not 3-star. No free breakfast offered.

“Nothing totally wrong. The Marriot was 3 stars, how can this be 3 also? 2 at best. Hotel was clean, Microwave and fridge was available in room. Staff was friendly, accommodating and polite. Offered wakeup call without having to ask.”

• Great Free Parking Facilities that is close to the rooms.
• The rooms have windows that face the hallway, so curtains need to be closed at all times.

“This hotel was really good. Rooms were clean, and spacious. Parking was free, which it isn't always in NY, and close to the rooms. Alarmingly there was no room service after 11 pm. In most hotels there is an order form, in your room that you put on your door for breakfast but in this hotel there wasn't. I called down to the receptionist and they told me that they didn't have any of the forms, because only house keeping had them. The staff was very friendly, but extremely unhelpful.”

• The staff was excellent.
• Not in a safe area.

“Holiday inns are not 3 stars and should not be listed as such on your site. Our car was broken into and the GPS was stolen. We were parked right in front of hotel. There have been hundreds stolen from this area, and no warning was present. The staff, however, was excellent. My partner has filled out many of these with reference to your so-called three star hotels and has never received a response.”

• Neat, clean rooms, comfortable, easy access from freeways.
• Smoking rooms are on same level as non-smoking rooms - could smell the smoke.

“Next time we are on Long Island we will be staying at the Holiday Inn Plainview. The price was within our budget and the room we had was more than comfortable, almost elegant! Very clean, quite and the hotel is easily accessible from two major freeways/parkways.”

“I was disappointed with the room. I had requested a king size bed & ended up in a room with 2 full size beds. The front desk told us there was nothing they could do because the hotel was sold out & just because you choose king size bed doesn't mean you'll get it. Other than that the hotel was fine.”
