  • Every staff member was helpful and friendly above and beyond.
  • No problems - though not within walking distance of shops and restaurants.

“From the moment we arrived until our departure, the staff was helpful and welcoming in a collection of above and beyond ways -- all this as Hurricane Hannah arrived and departed so there was some excess water, but no problem. The management of this hotel has obviously done a good amount of training of all their staff, so that guests quickly appreciate their decision to stay at the Stamford Hilton.”

  • Total pleasure.
  • Location. Outside the beautiful, manicured grounds was a poor neighborhood and very hard to find.

“The hotel and the grounds were beautiful, and it had a very nice work-out room, indoor pool and hot tub as well as gorgeous rooms.”

  • Comfortable, convenient and well appointed.
  • Housekeeping doesn't know to make up rooms.

“I'm not writing this to be published anywhere. It is a critique of my experience with the hotel. We stayed at the hotel 4 days in a row. The hotel apparently doesn't have a good communication with housekeeping in these circumstances, because 2 out of the 4 days the room was not made up at all.”

  • Proximity to Train Station.
  • Old, falling apart, bad service, no free internet in rooms, not quiet, paid parking.

“It is old, dingy and not well maintained. Nothing worked in the hotel. I felt like I was staying in a cheap road side motel. Staff was not helpful. They did not even have maps/brochures about nearby attractions. They charge you for everything: internet, water, parking. I will not stay there again.”

“Big open lobby with comfy chairs to chat with friends and family. Spacious room and bathroom. Very comfortable beds. Parking was dark in the basement. Spend the extra money and have valet park.”

“No wireless internet in room, cordless phone not working, not charging, I had asked for 2 nights and I checked out early. I stayed only one night.”

  • The hotel now that it is the Hilton and remodeled, is a very nice place to stay.
  • The underground parking lot was very small. It was hard parking a larger vehicle.

  • It's beautiful and rooms are very nice and clean.
  • Some things with service not up to par.

“They charge you $3 for a can of coke. Then charge you all kinds of other stuff. go down to the restaurant and save some money, but the food was very goofed. Ice machine on the 8th floor not working and we have to go to another floor to get ice. Parking is $10 a day. There is no where other than the garage to park at this hotel, that's a big turnoff. They also charge $10 a day for the internet. After just getting settled into our room, we were moved as a large group with lots of kids came in, that was very inconvenient. The hotel has been refurbished, I think it used to be a Sheraton, it's not in a great part of town at all, but is convenient to the Interstate and other areas. The hotel is beautiful and very clean. I loved it here and would definitely stay again.”

  • Early departure results in an additional $50.00 administrative fee.

“If you are used to rattling around empty and impersonal small convention facilities that are distant from nearby attractions, then you should feel right at home here. Personnel are very polite. Shuttle is available for every 1/2 hour to run you to and from downtown and Metro station but service can be spotty at just the wrong time. The Hilton sits on nicely landscaped grounds, set apart from a large tract of low rise office buildings, but the whole area is surrounded by a seedy neighborhood. I felt safe walking through the neighborhood during daylight hours to downtown 20 minutes away. Shuttles are available to take more cautious guests to and from downtown until 10:30 pm. The shuttle trip takes about 7 minutes. Downtown has a large upscale mall with good quality moderate restaurants. Hotel is clean but my room was dim. I had to call for replacement of burned-out bulbs in the desk and bedside lamps. As of this writing, wall-mounted lamps have been installed in the darkest corners of the studios, but the power cords are too short and they are all in place but useless. The HD plasma TV was excellent.”

  • The new room were nice. Good bed.
  • It is under construction.

“The hotel is remodeling the public areas. It is under construction. There was no lobby a few temporary tables for check in. The newly redone rooms were nice. Over all this hotel is not in the same class as the Hyatt or Hilton.”

  • Convenient, comfortable and very nice.
  • Received comp bottled water on two visits; next visit front desk gave water to 2 guests but told us it was not available.

“The rooms are very comfortable and well appointed. Probably my favorite place to stay in Stamford.”
