“Considering the shape the hotel is in, I think giving it a 1 star is being way too generous. I would consider this more of a .5 star motel. The parking lot was in really bad shape and the signs weren't very visible. If we weren't from the area we would have missed it completely. L.I.E. Was about 500 feet away and the parking lot looked as if drug dealers hang out there during the night. The lobby was in shambles but then the workers claimed that they are renovating. I don't see anything being renovated though. The windows have large cracks in it as if someone tried to punch a whole through it. The hallways are dark and dirty reminding me of some horror movie. The room was small and smelled of air freshener, the type you hate. Opening the sliding door to the so called court yard for hours could not clear the smell. Not to mention there were pools of water right next to the sliding door on verge of coming into the room. The light fixtures were old and worn down and lopsided. There were cracks on the walls and ceilings with some patched, others paint falling apart. There were water damages where there were no cracks. The carpet was dirty with stains. The sheets at least looked clean but then it was so dark in there that I wouldn't be able to tell if it was dirty. The bathroom had the cheap and old fixtures that things are growing in. The hair dryer didn't work, the toilet barely flushed. It would bubble and bubble for some 5 minutes until we figured out that if we hold down the button to flush until the entire bowl cleared then it seemed to work. There was no water tank cover for the toilet. In its place there was a piece of cheap plastic that was one size too small. The tub had cracks in it and some area that appeared to be patched. There were stains in the tub and we weren't sure if it was clean or not. The TV worked but not a huge selection. CNN was their best channel. We understand that long island is very expensive to stay at but this I.”

“The only thing that I can say nice about this hotel is that it is easy to get too is you are doing business in Nassau county. The hotel was run down. Security was poor. Beds were horrible. Side entrance door was broken and would not close. Corridors were dimly lit. Housekeeping was very basic. The overall feeling was that it was not kept very clean. Staff was cordial but did not appear to be very experienced or professional. Would never use a Howard Johnson hotel if I could avoid it. I initially accepted the accommodation thinking that a National chain hotel would have some level of comfort. This was below economy. I dont deserve a rating at all.”

“The hotel was filthy & should be shutdown by the health department. It was unsafe and unsanitary and also be condemned. My partner & I felt very unsafe and we did not even stay there as we feared for our safety. We had to inconvenience a relative as we were in NY for a wedding & had no place to stay where we felt safe. I am currently waiting for a refund on my credit card as I wasted my money. I would not humiliate myself by recommending this hotel to anyone.”

“Terribly dirty, run down. It's definitely a hotel that is more along the lines of 'rent by the hour' rather than stay overnight.”

“When we arrived at the hotel, the hall and entry way were dirty. We did not feel comfortable staying there. We had no choice the first night because we had to attend a funeral and could not leave at that time. There was no hot water the second day we were there. It was around 12:00 and I was trying to get ready for the funeral. I left the water running and never during the first 15 minutes got any hot water. We then left the water running in the sink to see if it would warm up; it didn't until my husband was 10 minutes into his shower. The towels were terrible, you could see through them. The room had a urine smell and was dirty. The TV remote control did not have any batteries in it. We had a very unpleasant stay there. We checked out after the hot water situation.”

“We requested a non-smoking room but it was wrenched in distinct smoke odor. The hotel is inconveniently located, far from the bus/city railroad station but near a busy highway so very noisy. The staff yelled at us a couple of times for asking questions about local services, phone numbers, and directions. I would not return to this hotel even if it were free.”

“This is a 1* motel, so you can't expect much. Still, it was pretty bad, especially the very strong mildew smell that pervaded my room (due to the carpet having been flooded at some point, I think). ”

“The hallway carpets need to be replaced. The staff should try to be a bit more accomodating to their guest's needs. No continental breakfast, as advertised, over the weekend. It was a good hotel for a single star.Location was difficult to find.”

“The hotel clerk had made a photo copy of my drivers license and credit card. Showed us the unlocked drawer just on the other side of the desk where they kept this information. He had to leave the front desk to make the photo copy making this information avalible to anyone who walked in since he was alone. We felt very uncomfortable with this hotel policy and were told we could not check in with out this procedure. We were left with no choice but to leave.”

“1) The location is hazadous and confusing by the busy intersection.2) Requested 2 beds but denyed unless we paid extra.3) Got the nosiest room.4) Musty and cigarette smell in the lobby and hallways.5) Cooling unit was mulfunctioning...got warm air instead. Just used fan instead.6) They requested the photo ID at the time of check in. They made copies of my driver's license and credit card. I wanted my licence copy back at the time of check out. I ended up receiving it and tore it apart in the end, but it took a long time to convice the clerk who was very understanding and kind. She was just following the co. policy. Apparently they get some bad guests...that's what I was told. They also said that they will not allow anyone to stay without picture ID. It's a scary experience to leave my ID with them in the time of identity theft.***”

“They really need to train their staff in customer service. The front desk clerk was very rude to my fiance and did not want to help her at all. When she said she was going to write to the head office, he just simply said "go ahead". ”

“This hotel room looked like something you would rent by the hour, also it had wholes in the blankets, the mattress sagged, the room smelled like stale cigarettes and that was not pleasing especially since I am pregnant.”

“The rooms were dirty and the bedsprings were terrible. the heater did not work and the hot water was lukewarm at best... Also please be advised that an error was made. I clicked on a 2 star hotel for $75.00 and a one star came up. If I wanted a one star hotel; I would have offered $50.00”
