• Great staff. Nice value on room and location. Attractive updated rooms and bath.
• Was undergoing construction in the lobby, but didn't affect my stay. Might have changed the bar ambiance.

• Room had torn wall paper, lobby was under construction.

“For 2 stars, fine, for 3.5, no way. It was not as nice as most 3 star hotels we normally stay at.”

• Terrific location, friendly enough staff.
• Poor-quality bathroom faucet. Jerky & hard to control water flow. No blankets, only a comforter and sheets.

• The location was right near a subway station and that was convenient.
• Mold. Rude staff. Deposit not refunded.

“This hotel was horrible. The staff was rude charged me a deposit that I was told would be refunded but never was. No one ever answered the room service line, either. I was there for three days and nights, and although I requested the phone be repaired immediately, it never was, despite multiple requests.”

• Bathroom decor was tired looking and craftsmanship was of poor quality. Noise in hallway kept me up at night and woke me in the morning.

“This hotel is centrally located in midtown Manhattan only a couple of blocks from the Rockefeller Plaza with easy access to the subway. The room was a bit small but it was clean and comfortable and the staff was great.”

• Hotel staff very accommodating.
• Could smell smoke coming from neighbor's room. This is a non-smoking hotel.

“Hotel lobby is nicely updated. The hallways and rooms need some updating but the amenities inside the room make up for what's lacking. The bedding, furniture, window treatment and room accessories are nicely done.”

• Room was noisy very close to the elevator. Police and Fire Station just out window and loud all night.

“Fire Alarm went off around 10pm and woke me and my pregnant wife up from a deep sleep. Then a loud voice came over the speaker in the room saying everything is ok. Needless to say, I did not get much sleep. My wife was more than rattled.”

• The front lobby was nice and the bar was hip. Service was good too.
• The room had paint peeling off the walls and the drain backed up. Needed a room remodel.

“Great first impressions and nice entry presentation, but the rooms felt like they were old and falling apart. Still stank of smoke even though we had a non-smoking room. The air circulation was bad. The bed was comfortable, though.”

“Double-Tree Metropolitan met my expectation with regards to convenience to get to various locations in Manhattan. Other positives are large flat panel TV and comfortable bed. The room, in general, is clean. However, I found the carpet to be a tad worn and the bathroom small.”
