“This hotel is centrally located in midtown Manhattan only a couple of blocks from the Rockefeller Plaza with easy access to the subway. The room was a bit small but it was clean and comfortable and the staff was great.”

• Hotel staff very accommodating.
• Could smell smoke coming from neighbor's room. This is a non-smoking hotel.

“Hotel lobby is nicely updated. The hallways and rooms need some updating but the amenities inside the room make up for what's lacking. The bedding, furniture, window treatment and room accessories are nicely done.”

• Room was noisy very close to the elevator. Police and Fire Station just out window and loud all night.

“Fire Alarm went off around 10pm and woke me and my pregnant wife up from a deep sleep. Then a loud voice came over the speaker in the room saying everything is ok. Needless to say, I did not get much sleep. My wife was more than rattled.”

• The front lobby was nice and the bar was hip. Service was good too.
• The room had paint peeling off the walls and the drain backed up. Needed a room remodel.

“Great first impressions and nice entry presentation, but the rooms felt like they were old and falling apart. Still stank of smoke even though we had a non-smoking room. The air circulation was bad. The bed was comfortable, though.”

• Location and proximity to a subway station.
• Bathroom is small and room has no view.

“Double-Tree Metropolitan met my expectation with regards to convenience to get to various locations in Manhattan. Other positives are large flat panel TV and comfortable bed. The room, in general, is clean. However, I found the carpet to be a tad worn and the bathroom small.”

• Excellent location.
• No pool, no extended checkout.

“Great location at 53rd & Lexington--walking distance to most of mid-town Manhattan. Despite repeated requests, staff would not allow us to check-out even 1 hour later! Charged $2 per bag to hold our bags until later in the day. Parking is expensive (typical of mid-town). Small, but comfortable rooms.”

• The location was great. Close to public transportation. Friendly and helpful staff.
• Bar on first floor as you come in to hotel.

“Overall, very nice hotel. We had a queen room which was small, just barely enough room for one of us but again, nice. The bar on the first floor as you come in may turn away family - oriented visitors. Hotel was close to subway and within walking distance to Time Square area (10 min).”

• The adjacent building was under construction, therefore lacking any sort of a pleasant view.
