• Great location.
• Room was dark.

“ Lobby looks beautiful, golden and elegant. The interior deco was a bit out of date. Not the most attractive room I've stayed but clean and comfortable. ”

• Can't beat the location in midtown NYC.
• Having a room with a door attached to the next room - Noisy.

“I have stayed and reviewed this hotel before. Good place to stay. Great location if you want to be in midtown but out of the chaos of midtown west. Ready access to anything you need or want to do.”

“I can't imagine staying at any other hotel the next time I come to NYC. The location and corridor between the hotel and Grand Central Station made the stay incredibly convenient. The woman at check-in was extremely helpful and personable.”

• The restaurant/bar that faces 42nd street is not being used.

• They surprised my sister with a bottle of wine and chocolate covered strawberries for her 50th birthday without my asking!
• Bathroom is small.

“I have never been to a hotel where the staff went so much out of their way to ensure we had a pleasant experience. From the one who checked us in, upgraded our room, and then surprised my sister (and me as I didn't even request it) for her 50th birthday by having a bottle of delicious red wine and 6 chocolate covered strawberries waiting in our room with a handwritten card when we returned - to the cleaning person who went out of her way to take us the back way to the Grand Central Terminal. The room was very large for a NY city hotel, the view was great, beds were very comfortable, service was excellent, location good.”

• Location, warm welcome lobby, lovely quiet room.
• Nothing I did not like about it.

“Going to Times Square? or Broadway/Off Broadway theater? or just sightseeing Manhattan? or browsing Central Park? This hotel offered excellent access to all this and more within walking distance and welcomed us back with a gorgeous warm spacious lobby and a quiet clean room. Cannot say enough about the pleasurable experience we had both in and outside the hotel.”

• The staff and coupons for coffee and breakfast.
• I'm not fond of large hotels and their huge lobbies.

“Our room was large and well-appointed with a very nice bathroom. The decor was contemporary and comfortable. The bed was very comfortable. The staff, especially at check-in, was very friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was fabulous!”

• Perfect location and clean, comfy room.
• Very small room.

“I picked this Hotel through Priceline's "name- your-price" feature and was not at all disappointed! Our room (which was available several hours ahead of check-in time) was small but perfectly clean and attractive with a very comfortable, king-size bed and crisp, cotton sheets. The bathroom was also small but had an abundance of fresh towels, a strong shower and suitable bathtub. I have no doubt that more well-appointed rooms are available.”

• I appreciated the kiosk automated check in. I also appreciated the hotel staff's attention when necessary. This Hyatt gave treated us like royalty!
• We were on the concierge floor, but it was unclear what was available to us on that floor. I would have liked clarification.

“The Hyatt Grand, NYC is everything you would expect a luxury hotel to be in a big city. That realization becomes clear from the uniformed bell men at the front of the hotel to the exceptionally quiet and enormous lobby with a Starbucks just steps away from the busy NYC streets. It is exactly what you see in the movies, and we were abundantly pleased with the accommodations and the service. This is the hotel to stay at in New York not because Grand Central Station is next door (literally), but because it is an amazing taste of the wonder of New York City. What a great landing place after a day of sightseeing!”

• Great location, clean, bigger than average NYC hotel rooms.
• Thin walls, WiFi not free.

“We were very nervous after reading the reviews from other travels but we were very pleasantly surprised! My husband used to travel to NYC quite a bit and has stayed at some very nice hotels throughout the city. I have been just twice in the last few years and have stayed in other 4 star hotels so we had something to compare it to. First of all the location could not be beat. The lobby was beautiful and has a coffee stand with a nice assortment of food, fruit, bagels, etc. The rooms were very nice,
while the paint could have been touched up the beds and bedding are very nice furniture is updated,
nice closet space for and NYC hotel. The fitness center is fantastic, nice size with plenty of cardio machines and weights. We spent 2 nights with 2 adults and 2 small children and felt like we had plenty of space, felt safe and everything felt clean!”
