• Suite with furnished kitchen, dining, living room; homey feel.
• Old, no internet in the room, extra blankets had holes in them.

“Great for families. We were able to make our own breakfast in the morning thanks to the furnished kitchen in our suite and a nearby convenience store. Did not feel like you were in a hotel, felt like you were in a rented apartment, a much more homey feel.”

• Size, the fact you could check in/out quickly.
• The fact you could not get a real suite for the price.

“We had stayed at the hotel before. We thought it had a separate bedroom (for parents), or at least a regular size sofa for an older child to sleep, but this was not the case. I did a lot of searches trying to find a room for 3 people, but nothing came up.”

• Check-in not until after 2 PM.

• Room was not clean than that I expected.

“Other amenities was relatively ok (refrigerator, oven, cooking stuffs) but I had a difficulty to find a cup for coffee. I ended up with using a plastic cup.”

• Large room!
• Location not as convenient to subway/parking as other hotels.

“The room and lobby were clean and nicely decorated. The staff was very helpful and friendly. I would stay here again-but be ready to do some walking! Parking down the street, Subway several blocks down the street.”

• We had a balcony with a view of the Empire State Building. Room was big, and had full kitchen if we needed it. Awesome.
• Decor could be updated, but this hotel was a close safe walk to Grand Central, couldn't ask for more.

“We wanted a larger room, and were very pleased. The room was huge by NYC standards, and we had a balcony with an outstanding view of the Empire State Building. Decor was a bit outdated and elevator was slow but I would stay here again.”

“I had a suite, so the view was excellent. The bathroom appeared to be updated and worked well. The remaining furniture was slightly dated (think early 90's), but the room was clean and comfortable.”

• It had a kitchenette and two decent sized closets.
• The bath room was a bit of a tight squeeze.

“AMAZING location just a couple blocks from Grand Central Terminal and within walking distance of the Empire State Building and Times Square. The room was pretty big with a kitchenette (complete with stove, refrigerator, coffee maker & utensils). The TV was a bit outdated with only local channels and not much for wireless internet, but we were only using it to sleep so we were MORE than satisfied!”

“The hotel was in a great location near grand central station, nice area. The staff was fine. The beds were comfortable and the accommodations were nice. I might stay here again if it is made clear what I would be charged extra money for.”

• Outstanding location, friendly staff, clean, comfortable, very roomy for a Manhattan hotel.
• Would like to have had a choice of local newspapers.

“Have stayed in many New York hotels over the years and this has been the best. Beautifully decorated spacious room with view of Empire State Building. Friendly staff, nice lobby. Close to many restaurants, subway, shopping, etc.”

• I absolutely loved the location, close to shopping and awesome restaurants.
• Our rom was very cold with no heater.

“The Murray Hill East was every bit as retro as we could imagine. Nice size bathroom, well lit and a floor length mirror, but not much counter space. The kitchen had a full size fridge. Great amount of closet space and plenty of hangers. Only down side was that the bedroom was freezing. The living room wasn't as bad but still cold.”

• Renovation signs posted, my room was out of the 70's. Room was large, but it had a slight scent of old.
• Outdated furniture, elevator, lobby.

“Price - good room - big size, clean, 2 doubles and a pull out sofa, full kitchen only 1 bath, needs airing out according to signs posted they are under renovation. When it is complete it should be terrific. Location - good, close to subway staff - in person, nice coordinal but when I called to confirm a late arrive a bit unpleasant.”

• The hotel staff was extremely friendly and the location can't be beat.
• The bed was uncomfortable, and the street noise was very loud.

“Overall, this hotel was a great. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The room was fairly spacious by NYC standards. Only couple blocks from Grand Central and the Empire State Building, the location can't be beat. My only complaint was that the noise from the street was really loud in the morning.”

• Unbeatable location easy access to Subway and within walking distance to major attractions.
• Beds could have been more comfortable.

“I would recommend this hotel to anyone going to NY on vacation. The location is unbeatable. It is within 2 blocks to Grand Central station and few more to Times squares. If you arrive from LaGuardia, the bus drop is right across from Grand Central station and it would save you a ton of money on parking and car rental. Scooty's on Lexington and 39th offers excellent food at great prices. So make sure you stop by. The only minor thing was the bed. It could have been a little bit more comfortable, but by the time we got back we were done so it was a minor thing. Room and bathrooms were clean. So that was the main thing for us. I really do not care about the room decor. I'd stay there if I ever go back.”

• Old - needs an upgrade - still uses room keys versus card access.
