“I had no idea they'd be as small as they were. This was some converted apartment building but I think they made have condensed the rooms. There was barely room enough for one person to turn around in, let alone four (and I'm only 5'3" tall!).”

“If you don't mind a window air conditioner (I do), and cramped room (I do), and you're willing to pay a premium for a room with no amenities, then this is the place to stay.”

“If you are going to experience NYC, just need a place to sleep, shower and leave your luggage, this is a great place to stay for the price! It is located on the West side of central park in a great neighborhood and well worth the value!”

“This is a fine place for two to stay if you don't plan to spend more than twenty or thirty minutes daily in the room awake.”

“Great location. One small elevator that takes too long to get up and down. Rooms not very clean. Bathroom was not clean.”

“The hotel was fine, but the room was very small. I'm very tall and it was difficult for me to move around the closet, I mean the room; or was that a closet with a bathroom. The location was awesome 1/2 from central park and a block from several Subway stations. I will stay again, but only if I'm by myself.”

“The staff did not have much interest in its customers, and the rooms are tiny and modest, but the location in a tranquil yet highly accessible neighborhood, steps from Central Park, more than compensate.”

“Small rooms but comfortable for short stay with nice TV and AC. clean, nice staff, great quiet location. Only 1 elevator so stay on lower floors so you can at least walk down.”

“We really enjoyed the continental breakfast and the hotel was clean. The rooms were very small which is to be expected; the neighborhood was nice. Although, we saw in a bug in our room and when we got up to kill it, we no longer could find it. So we called the front desk asking for assistance, they couldn't find the bug, which isn't surprising because they only looked under the TV and in the general area where we found the bug; apparently bugs don't move. Then, we were told that there are no bugs, they have never heard of bugs being in the hotel, and that it must have been an illusion. I found this to be very insulting and those particular staffers were unprofessional and unfriendly. We didn't think the hotel had a bug problem, it probably came in from the bedroom window that they leave open for ventilation. We just wanted to be rid of the bug but, otherwise, it was okay.”

“Comfort Inns are generally nice comfortable hotels. This hotel was a converted apartment building that has very small hotel rooms and a very slow elevator. A very small fitness room and breakfast room that was complimentary. But overall, the location of the hotel makes it worth investigating but it was a bit pricey.”

“Small, no amenities at all. Very Spartan. Clean though. Hotel employees very disinterested. I guess for the price in that area, you can't expect much more.”

“A very crammed hotel space, dark color rooms and bulky furnitures. But convenient centrally located within the upper part of NY Manhattan, it is a plus.”

“I understand space is hard in NY, but I cannot believe the amount of money this hotel charges to stay in such a tiny, room. Very uncomfortable, would never stay here again. Towels were cheap and old, yuck!”

“We spent one night at this hotel - after viewing several negative ratings we were a little nervous about staying here - were we surprised! Staff was extremely pleasant and helpful, room was perfect - small, but all rooms are small in NYC - bathroom was clean - and room was quiet!! Great complimentary breakfast and great late noon check-out - we loved this place and will stay here every time we go to NYC. ”

“Terrible! Rooms dirty, small & smoky. Stayed on 14th floor elevator broke, showed up at 9:30 for breakfast that ended at 10 only to be told sorry no food come back tomorrow & come earlier. Staff was rude.”

“This hotel is a tiny, grungy, depressing room with nasty carpet, just all around disappointing. The carpet in the bathroom was wet from the previous guest's shower. The only "good" thing about this hotel is its location - one block off Central Park West and two blocks to the subway. Highly disappointing experience and I would absolutely never stay here again.”

“The location of this hotel cannot be beat. It is close to Central Park and Columbus Avenue and is a prime area. The room was clean, if tiny and the hotel easy to navigate, although the single elevator is in an awkward location and hard to mount with a large suitcase. The front desk staff never said hello to me. I always made a point of greeting them and usually received a muffled mutter in reply. My major complaint about the hotel was that there seemed to be little helpfulness or effort at friendliness by the front desk staff. The maids however were very friendly.”
