- Central Park is opposite the YMCA. You can easily walk downtown as the YMCA is so near. The food and drink available in the YMCA is reasonably tasteful and priced
- Not all power sockets work. Some rooms are tiny. Cold showers!!
“I have recently got back from New York, had a great time, the location of the YMCA is perfect as you can pretty much walk everywhere or get the subway. However, if you stay where I was within the YMCA, you may be disappointed. I went with a school group with people of around 18 years old, the room I shared with one person was really small and we could hardly move. The suitcases (not big) took up all the floor space and I (sleeping on the top bunk) had less than a foot of space against a wall to get up to it. These are the negative points, however the location and facilities available are good (shops and attractions are easily accessible!!) The rooms situation will not affect badly if visitors spend most of the day in and around New York. Note: rooms on higher floors in the YMCA are said to be in better conditions than lower ones.”
