“You get what you pay for. The hotel is fairly clean but the blankets were old with holes in them. Staff was helpful. I would go again if I'm traveling alone and I want to save money.”

“Room was small, but clean and quiet, and above all budget friendly. Dirty lobby and hallways though. Wouldn't stay there if I were on vacation, but fine for business. I'd stay there again, and probably will stay there again next time I have to spend the night in nick.”

“Hotel was fine, clean and staff was friendly. No food available but restaurants were right out the door. Bedroom was extremely small but bathroom was large and nice. We weren't in it very much so as long as it was clean, we were happy.”

“For a new York hotel, can't beat the price and location. The downside is the extremely small sized budget rooms located along stairwells which make them very noisy while people are coming into the hotel in the evening. Also, my TV buzzed so loudly, I could barely watch it. Bedside tables are not really bedside - and no space to hang clothes or place your suitcase out of the way. Yes, sheets are thin, but in general it's a great deal if you're just looking for a place to crash for the night.”

“I've stayed in many hotels in Manhattan over very many years. I like downtown over midtown and I don't need frills. I really liked this hotel because they allowed me to check in prior to 3.00p.m. (A major no-no in most Manhattan hotels), the room, although small, was immaculate. The shower was one of the better ones that Iżve experienced and the rooms were all walk ups - no having to wait for the elevator. I plan on staying here again in may. I'm sold. Also, since the inn is so small it's virtually impossible to enter (you must be buzzed in) if you are not a guest. Safety at its finest.”

“For the price and location couldn't go wrong, was within walking distance of many things. Hotel staff was helpful, size of room was smaller than expected, but we were gone so much it really didnżt matter. Would book hotel again.”

“The Murray Hill Inn was pretty much what I expected it to be. You get what you pay for, so I wasn't surprised by the size of the room (very small) or the Spartan facilities. I found the staff to be friendly and accommodating. We had to switch rooms to get a shower that had hot water. However, even in our second room, the water had to be left running for about a hour before it started to warm up, and the water pressure was weak. Other than the shower, and maybe the very noisy air conditioning, and possibly the cleanliness of the sheets, I have no complaints. I didn't set my standards very high. We chose to save money by staying in a cheaper hotel, so we knew we weren't getting any luxuries. We spent little time in the room anyway, and the location was excellent. Very close to the subway and within walking distance of many places that would interest tourists. All in all, the hotel suited my needs while softening the blow on my budget.”

“Our room was tiny. The bed wasn't even a double. The linens were extremely thin, with small holes in them. The heating or plumbing system made terrible rumbling noises all night long. The bathrooms were very nice, but the lighting was dim.”

“Uncomfortable bed, terrible heat, kept me awake almost all night. Very cold in room. Couldn't shower. Not very clean room. Continental breakfast starts at 9:00 am! In general a terrible experience. Ruined my trip.”
