• Friendly staff, clean, nice bed and bath.
• It was not easily recognizable from the outside.

• Sophisticated, relaxing atmosphere. Friendly staff.
• Slow elevators.

“Overall, the accommodations were excellent. From the moment I entered the lobby there was a sense of sophistication about the Royalton. Very modern decor, a huge plus! The room was smaller than expected but very clean. My only issue was with the slowness of the elevators since I was on the 12th floor but this would not deter me from staying there.”

• Clean modern design.
• Hallways and public spaces are somberly dark.

“Fashionably modern small hotel in an historically interesting block of 44th St near 5th Avenue and the Times Square. Quiet rooms, attentive staff, and a welcoming fireplace compensate for the dark atmosphere of public spaces.”

• Ridiculous prices for meals and amenities.

“Clean rooms, good staff, ridiculous and dark lobby and public areas, ridiculous prices for in-house food, drinks, etc. Would not consider this hotel again.”

• The decor is beautiful the staff were very professional and helpful.
• The air vent in the bathroom needs to be dusted cleaned.

• The lobby and room appearance exceeded our expectations.
• There was no ice machine on any floor.

“Upon approaching the hotel, we were welcomed by the bellhop and escorted into the lobby. The lobby was exquisitely decorated, very modern and cozy. The hostess was very friendly, a very nice gesture. The elevators are small and we wondered how exactly it could fit 12 people, if possible. The hallways were dimly lit, but consistent with the ambience. Our room was much more than we expected. Beautiful modern decor, ample lighting with dimmers, and very plush linens. The bathroom was the highlight of our room, with the extra large shower. Overall, we were extremely happy with our choice to stay at the Royalton and look forward to staying there again upon our next visit to the city.”

• Attentive staff, very clean (rooms, lobby).
• The bed was not as comfortable as it looked.

“This was my first visit to this hotel. Staff was friendly and accommodating (checked in 3 hours early). Location convenient to theaters and shopping. Room and all hotel areas were well maintained. Lobby/bar area was comfortable with fireplaces. This area becomes busy at night. Room equipped with large umbrella. Comes in handy when it rains and you left your umbrella at home.”

• Love the look and environment inside. Very posh and comfortable.
• I can't think of anything I didn't like about the hotel.

“A great place to stay for business as well as romantic getaways. Friendly staff and rooms with all the amenities that you'd want or need. Excellent dining and a fashionable cocktail lounge that essentially doubles as the hotel lobby. A very nice place to stay.”

• The staff was fantastic!
• The rooms were dark & the furniture was cheap.

“The Royalton canceled my reservation before I arrived in NYC & I was moved to Morgan's (a sister hotel). The staff made me feel right a home & always remembered my name. They really went above & beyond. While the hotel was very nice it was also very dark (even with all the lights on). Also, the furniture & rug in my room were worn in places & seemed like it was time for an update.”

• Best thing was the shower, great pressure and hot water!
• Very small rooms and no place to set things in bathroom

“This hotel appeared geared to a younger clientele. Lighting in common areas was very dim. Modern decor was nice. We liked the staff and the location and we would return, in large part due to location and shower. No amenities such as restaurant or gift shop in this hotel.”

• Location, towels, comfort of bed and bedding.
• It was closing for renovations the day we left.

“You guys really should be aware of renovations when and if they are taking place on properties listed. We felt much ripped off due to the situation at hand upon our arrival. In the past we have stayed at the Royalton and felt it was what it was marketed as via you not this time. We were duped! There was a make shift bar in the lobby, no restaurant and half the lobby was not in use. It certainly was not a 4 or 5 star property in the state it was in.”

• Beautiful spacious rooms and modern bathrooms and very comfortable beds.
• The elevators were small and dismal and the lighting in the rooms and bathrooms was dim.

“The hotel rooms and bathrooms were spacious and modern. The comforters and pillows on the bed were terrific. One of the best hotels we've stayed at in N.Y. Only the lighting needs to be brighter, but the day we checked out, was the last day this hotel was open. It is closing for 4 months for extensive renovations. We will certainly return when it reopens.”

• The staff and service are amazing!
• The rooms are renovated from an older structure.

“The Royalton treats you like royalty from the moment you are greeted by the doorman. The check-in process, concierge, and general facilities are top notched! The building is an older structure that has been renovated. Our room was spacious with a very comfortable bed, well appointed bathroom, and a nice couch & coffee table. The location is great. Within walking distance of time square, grand central and port authority. There is a nice coffee shop across the street for a quick bite. (It's called the red flame).”

• When lit candle it set off fire alarm--right above candle.

“Very good location. I liked this hotel because it was not to busy and overbearing like many 4 start hotels can be. Nice staff and not too large of hotel. Very quiet and relaxing.”

“The hotel was very modern. Although dark I realize that this is the new trend. However, I do feel that you should have the option of making your room and bathroom as bright as can be. Loved the experience.”
