“Excellent location within five minutes of the Theater District. Rooms are tiny, even by New York standards. We were told that the bed was queen size, but seemed to be smaller. Room was not particularly clean.”

“The Algonquin is a fabulous historic hotel full of atmosphere and ghosts of literary past. Check out the wall paper in the hallways.”

“The room was very small. My kids bedroom is larger. Sleeping well until 6:45 am. When construction workers started talking and yelling outside our window. Then work started at 7 and that was the end of sleep. If you stay there don't plan on staying out late to enjoy the city. Great place to stay if you plan to go to NBC Today show. You will be gone before noise starts. Manager was very uncaring, and made untrue statements.”

“The bathroom door did not close, and if it did, you could get stuck in the bathroom. The rooms are tiny. The key system was not working and had to have a hotel person open the room door. The front desk was inflexible in offering solutions.”

“It's a youth hostel, not a 4 star hotel. The room is as the same size as a bath room. Seriously, I am not joking.”

“The window air conditioner was so noisy, the noise from construction so loud and the lights from the street so bright that it made sleeping next to impossible despite a comfortable bed and lovely linens.”

“Overall it was good for the price I paid through priceline. I have no complaints other than the room being smaller than what I expected. The staff was very accomodating and friendly. I would recommend for a business stay.”

“The Algonquin is a lovely, historic hotel in Midtown Manhattan. The hotel cat was at the door awaiting our arrival. The lobby has free entertainment (piano, singing, show tunes, etc.) most evenings and is a fun place to hang out to have a drink and relax. All of the rooms have little sayings from the literati of the Algonquin's heyday.”

“The hotel was located in a very good location but the rooms are very small and also the bath room doesn't even have a bath tub. Some of the staff of the hotel were very rude and even one of them was asking for tip rudely when I didn't have American money.”

“Walking in you feel its early history in the 1900s. It was all very elegant. I ordered room service the night
I arrived, had sea bass and risotto dinner, it was fantastic. I really felt like
I was in NYC even in the privacy of my room. I love this hotel.”

“I have stayed at the Algonquin before many years ago and it was still as good as it was back then. The people that stay in this hotel are regulars, which i totally see why. Also I was traveling alone (woman) and felt very safe! That is extremely important to me!”

“Convenient location, friendly staff, extremely clean and comfortable rooms with new, up-to-date amenities (European-style pillows/comforter, flat-screen television with satellite service, computer hook-ups, etc.), reasonable price. I really appreciated the fact that they provided me with an umbrella when it was raining.”

“The location is great, staff is amazing. The bartender downstairs is a great host as well as the people at the front desk. The room was extremely small, but very clean with a comfortable mattress and nice shower.”
