“Overall the experience was good..”

  • Close to empire state building.
  • Disgusting old rooms, a shabby place to stay for 150 a night.

“Came here on a group trip with girl scouts and was just disgusted. We had to wait an hour to get our room after a nine hour drive. Don't be fooled by the nice looking lobby, because this place is really shabby. When I first stepped on one of the two tiny elevators that were in operation, it literally lunged like three feet down and thankfully didn't fall all the way down the rest of the elevator shaft. We were put on the level below the smoking section, which still smelled like smoke. Hallways were dingy and gross. The rooms were tiny and the bathrooms were even worse. I wore flip flops in the shower because of the mold and was afraid to touch any of the countertops. The ac made really weird sounds at night and kept everyone up. It was an ok distance from times square and Broadway, but wasn't right there. It was in an ok area but not the best. The only advantage was that it was close to the empire state building which is a great place if you want to waste your time standing in multiple lines with tons of people just to get to the 82nd floor only to wait in another line to get to the very top. For 150 a night, a place like this should really offer better service and cleanliness.”

  • Location.
  • Room too small - no room to store two bags. Not enough lighting.

“While I might stay there myself again I would not recommend it to anyone else.”

  • The hotel staff were friendly and informative.
  • The rooms are tired and old, only the cover linens are new, the sheets and the room was very musty.

“I did not actually spend the night in this hotel, found myself at the Hilton Garden Inn for the same price and received much better value for my money! The new cover linens and the pictures on the website are extremely misleading! I unhappily paid for a room that I did not stay in because of the lack of quality.”

  • The STAFF was outstanding!
  • Not fancy!

“This is no fancy hotel, but our room was clean and the halls were clean. Elevators were small, but operated well. Our room had 2 double beds and was very adequate for our needs. The bathroom was clean. The hotel restaurant was good and the complimentary breakfast was very good. But the best thing about this hotel to us was its STAFF! They bent over backwards to accommodate us. Alex was fabulous and they were all courteous and very willing to help! The room served our needs very well. ”

  • The free breakfast buffet.
  • We were unable to get a nonsmoking room, tiny room, no view (typical of NYC).

“If you are used to small, old hotel rooms in NYC, this will do just fine. The room was clean enough and the staff was friendly and helpful. The location was very handy for access to cabs, subway, and walking distance to Times Square, Empire State Building, 5th Avenue, etc.”

  • No exhaust fan and no screen on bathroom window.

“This hotel is in a location next to the Empire State building and convenient to Theatre and Fashion districts. The area is clean and safe and people were friendly and accommodating We had a wonderful time in New York partly due to choosing to stay at this hotel.”

  • Large room for the price for a Manhattan hotel.
  • Wireless Internet access was slow and spotty.

“Great location, friendly staff. Room was much bigger than I expected for this price in Manhattan. Bed, furniture, bathroom all decent for the price. Only complaint was that the wireless Internet was very slow (2Mbps) and spotty, and I couldn't hold a VPN connection.”

  • The TV worked great, the bed was comfortable and the staff friendly.
  • Dark and old rooms, no view to speak of. WiFi internet didn't work on the 11th floor.

“I stayed here for two nights on a business trip. One elevator was out of service, the other quite small. AC was a wall unit, but not too loud. Room decor was old and dark. The bathroom was old and smal
