“Good location close to NYU, where we were visiting our son, ok stuff, ok breakfast (juice, bagels, coffee, tea self-served), we checked in late, a horrible basement room - dark like a grave, no windows, poor ventilation, smells, cheapest possible old bedding/pillows, good shower, hair on a cheap tile floor in the room, only 5-6 channels on a small TV.”

“The hotel was very nice. The room was clean and comfortable. They had turned the A/C on prior to my arrival so room was cool and comfortable. Staff was helpful and pleasant. Would plan to stay here again.”

“Fine for a quick trip for budget travelers; not up to a business traveler's needs.”

“Nice stay if you want to stay close to Manhattan downtown area. Very small room, but clean and comfort.”

“Small, cozy, clean, non-chain feel. If you have a hard time with stairs, make sure you're on the ground floor as there is no elevator. Perfectly nice and helpful staff.”

“The room was clean and recently remodeled, with nice hardwood floors, but small. The bed was great, but the TV service was pretty bad - just a handful of channels. Wireless Internet available for about $6 a day, but no in room instructions. Location was so-so - a few blocks from Union Square. There is a Subway entrance right near the front door. NYC hotel rooms being as expensive as they are, I didn't expect any better.”

“Very basic, but everything that I needed. Had to ask for coffee maker and iron, but they were there. The high ceilings and the good air conditioner kept me from feeling claustrophobic in the NY heat. Very good value for the money. I was comfortable and happy.”

“I stayed at this hotel for four nights. The room appeared clean superficially. The shower was unpredictable, the room noisy. The rates are reasonable for NYC these days. The problem is that my room was infested with bed bugs! I awoke the day I checked out with numerous welts on my face. A day later about a hundred itchy welts appeared mostly on my upper body. Since my return I've had to take precautions to prevent bringing the problem home. When I contacted the hotel to tell them the room was infested they denied having a problem. Don't stay here--it's not a value after all.”
