  • It was in a great location for the attractions.
  • Ice machine did not work needed some updating in the rooms paint, etc.. Lobby and staff were great.

“It was in a great location for attractions, broadway show, central park, staff nice and accomadating, except in night when tried to call guest service no one answered.”

  • Outstanding front desk staff.
  • Overall, a little too rundown.

“Perfect location at affordable price. Staff makes up for what the venue is a bit lacking. Thankful to Priceline for getting me in when I needed it at the price I wanted!”

“The room was dirty, dusty. The paint in the bathroom over the showers was peeling away. The porcline in the tub was chipped away. The towels were hard and rough
burned out light bulbs.”

  • Location.
  • Long check in line all the time.

“Every time I passed through the lobby there was a line to check in. I stood in line for over 45 minutes when I checked in. Besides that everything was up to par.”

  • The rooms where very outdated and dull looking, very disappointed.

“Great location. If you like hotel rooms that are bright and new you would not like this hotel. Rooms are very old and outdated for the movie you spend add an extra twenty and stay at e newer hotel”

  • History, room and
    location.
  • Check-in process is ridiculous, way too long.

“Generally great experience. No data cable for my data port. Not a good start to our stay when we had to wait half an hour to check in wondering if we were going to make our show on time. The lobby cafe had great coffee.”

  • We almost liked
    everything about the hotel.
  • The rooms were a little small. It was expected.

“Execellent Location if you want to see NYC. Within walking distance to Times Square, Central Park and so close to Madison Square Garden you could throw a rock and hit it. The rooms a little small so leave the kids at home if you can. Great for a romantc getaway.”

  • Location.
  • Room was old, smelly, paint was dirty, holes in the walls, dated bath and fixtures.

“The lobby is nice, the elevators were nice. After that is was all down hill. The hallways were drab and dirty paint on the walls, the room doors were beat-up and old. The room interior was depressing, dirty walls, old beat-up furniture, holes in the walls, and a very old and dated bathroom. The AC did not work but maintenance did get if working quickly. The location was good and convienent.”

  • Good location.
  • Bar was so close I could not stay away.

“Good spot.”

Cleanliness:[3] • Staff:[5] • Location:[8]

  • It obviously was a grand hotel at one time but not anymore.
  • Shabby looking and frankly 1700 rooms would be difficult to really pay attention to.

“Great location. Use it just for sleeping.”

  • The convenience to Madison Square Garden.
  • No room service.

“My friend and I stayed at this hotel because of the proximity to the Train station and Madison Square Garden. We were not disappointed. The hotel was clean even though they were accommodating pets who were there for the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show. It didn't smell doggy. I would stay there again.”

  • The hotel Pennsylvania has a superb mid-town location and is very pet friendly!
  • It is an older building and could use some modernizing.

“I stayed at the hotel Pennsylvania for the famous Westminster dog show across the street at Madison square garden. The hotel and staff truly went above and beyond to ensure the comfort and happiness of both its human and canine guests. Though it is an older building in need of modern updates, you can't get better location or value for what you pay in an expensive city like nick. If what you are looking for is just a comfortable room, I recommend this hotel. If you are traveling with pets, this is one of the best hotels you will find anywhere!”

  • Location.
  • Crowded lobby, long waits in line, small room, not enough space to work.

“For an overnight, it's fine. It's convenient, but gets a lot of groups and families and can be noisy, the lobby crowded.”

Cleanliness:[5] • Staff:[5] • Location:[9]

  • It's location in the city.
  • The room was about 95degrees with the window open all night, loud in halls and alarm clock was even broken.

“It was nothing that it was promised to be. And there was nothing the staff was willing to do about it. The room was extremely hot and was very tight with the position of the furniture.”

  • Reasonably priced & good tourist location.
  • A bit old fashioned & crowded.

“Good choice if you look for a great location for budget tourism.”

  • Location, accessibility.
  • Prices at cafe attached to restaurant.

“Rooms were small but efficient. Prices were high but cheap for NYC. Location is the biggest draw - Manhattan at Penn Station.”

Cleanliness:[6] • Staff:[6] • Location:[9]

  • It's a great throwback to the 30's and 40's.
  • It's possibly understaffed.

“If you're looking for a heavy dose of nostalgia this is the place for you.”

  • The hotel room was very bad. Not safe or clean.
  • I found bed bugs in my bed. Other things I took pictures of for you to see. It was a very bad experience.

“The room looked like something out of a night mare. The room smelled bad (odor) the rug was wet and stained. The linen was dirty with hair all over it (gray and thin) the wall had big holes in it. Their were no covers over the outlets. The wall paper was peeling all over the room. It was bad! bad! We had to change rooms. The second room was not much better. I requested my money back but was refused.”

Cleanliness:[7] • Staff:[7] • Location:[10]

  • Can't beat the location! Smack in the middle of Manhattan.
  • The rooms are small, and dated. The Hotel needs renovation.

“Generally the Hotel is pleasant, and well situated. Since the rooms are a bit small it's great for a couple, but not so great if you got a couple of kids with you, as the beds are small also. The parking is a separate charge from the room, and expensive.. that kind of blows it for you.”
