Cleanliness:[5] • Staff:[1] • Location:[7]

  • Bed was comfortable.
  • Unfriendly staff and unhelpful.

“Unfriendly place. Totally lacking in charm. Receptionists work behind security glass and keep front door locked. You have to get their attention so that they can "buzz" you in the front door. Scary place, as not very reassuring. TV but no clock, hair dryer or shampoo in room. I would not stay here again.”

Cleanliness:[4] • Staff:[4] • Location:[5]

  • Nice plants at entrance.
  • No clock in room - very hot in hall.

“Spend a few extra $ and stay at a nicer place.”

Cleanliness:[7] • Staff:[8] • Location:[8]

  • Good location.
  • Only one ice/vending area in lobby area. Nosy air conditioner.

“This is a satisfactory budget hotel in a good Manhattan location. For my short stay, the house keeping staff did a good job. There were no extra amenities, but this was the heart of NYC, and you could get anything you needed within a very short walking distance.”

  • Surprised at the good quality of the hotel for a low price.
  • We had to put a deposit down in order to obtain an iron and a hairdryer.

“Great location for a business traveler in New York City. We had a flat-screen plasma TV, which was a surprise! Clean rooms and bathrooms, as well as clear running water, which is not always guaranteed in NYC! Overall, we had a pleasant experience at the Herald Square Hotel and would recommend it!”

Cleanliness:[7] • Staff:[7] • Location:[10]

  • Cheap, central, friendly, quaint, cozy, clean.
  • Small, air conditioner noisy.

“The room is cozy without being pokey, adequate room for a couple and two suitcases. The room came with sky, so I could watch both Premiership Football and Baseball. The bathroom was tiny, but private, clean and with fresh towels daily. The room was sheltered from the noises of the street and dark enough to sleep plenty. Of my three trips to NYC this was the best value hotel accommodation I've had. Next time we come back I think we'll probably go back, it's 3 blocks from Macys, Empire State Building and Penn Station.
