“I really liked the hotel, the location and the uptown view. The staff was also very nice. I've stayed in many NY hotel rooms and even though I liked this hotel allot and the location, the rooms were too small for 2 people to live comfortably for more than a couple of nights. And we are very small people. I'm sure the hotel offers larger rooms for more money but not sure how much more money, though.”

“Unless you like to sleep with earplugs, this hotel is not for you. Between the horns honking outside and the people talking, smoking and partying in the hallways inside, I hardly slept-and that was on the tenth floor, not a low floor.”

“Rooms are pitifully small, not particularly clean, and with minimum space to do anything but sleep. The staff's attitude matches the hotels quality, snooty and unhelpful. ”

“The hotel's character is what impressed me and my wife. The staff was excellent, the room was perfect and extremely clean and neat. I have recommended it to my friends as the place to stay if you're going to a show in the Village.”

“Deal Soto location for a long Manhattan weekend getaway. Just 15 minutes from midtown shopping via the ACE and 456 subways along Canal St. However smallish rooms may make it difficult for family stays. Hang out in the 2nd floor lobby bar to practice your Italian, Spanish and Japanese with the hotel's international guests colored Arman sunglasses a must. And bring your CDC's as all rooms feature Bose waveform CD players. Shop, party hard and wake up full of energy as the beds are second to none. Industrial iron decor fits in well with the Rand's location. 15 Minute walk from Century 21 shopping, Ground Zero and Chinatown. . . oh, and the 24-hour coffee is great.”

“Conveniently located near subway. Accommodations not worth the hotel charge. Hotel restaurant had very poor service and mediocre food. Guest services and housekeeping were personable, competent and friendly.”

“Great location, incredibly nice staff. Only draw back was that the lobby on the second floor doubled as a restaurant and you couldn't go in and relax and watch the world go by. Wanted to sit and read one afternoon, and was told I had to go into the bar room, which was not as comfortable, and it was loud at 4 in the afternoon.”

“The staff was friendly, but clearly more used to dealing with downtown guests than uptown tourists like us. The location allowed us to drive into the city easily through the Holland, but also placed us above the tunnel entrance with a substantial amount of traffic noise. If you want to be in Soho or have business downtown, the location is unbeatable. However, we prefer a warmer environment with amenities & advice more geared toward shows, museums, and good cheap eats. We'll stay in midtown on our next visit to NYC.”

“There aren't many high quality hotels in SOHO area. SOHO Grand is an excellent choice if you can get a good deal. This is my second time staying at Soho Grand and still like it very much. It has a modern down tempo style. There's a live DJ spinning at the lounge/restaurant in the evening. It's a great place to experience SOHO.”

“This hotel is beautiful, and the staff makes you feel welcome. I found the d'r, a sort of industrial chic, to be sleek without being cold. I really loved this hotel.”
