Cleanliness:[9] • Staff:[10] • Location:[7]

  • It was very hip, the view uptown was awesome, and it was located in Soho.
  • Rooms very, very small.

“I really liked the hotel, the location and the uptown view. The staff was also very nice. I've stayed in many NY hotel rooms and even though I liked this hotel allot and the location, the rooms were too small for 2 people to live comfortably for more than a couple of nights. And we are very small people. I'm sure the hotel offers larger rooms for more money but not sure how much more money, though.”

  • Fitness room.
  • Noise level.

“Unless you like to sleep with earplugs, this hotel is not for you. Between the horns honking outside and the people talking, smoking and partying in the hallways inside, I hardly slept-and that was on the tenth floor, not a low floor.”

Cleanliness:[9] • Staff:[9] • Location:[9]

  • The location was excellent. The staff was super nice and accommodating.
  • The prices of the condiments/snacks available in the room were way too high.

“The staff was very friendly and competent. The hotel location was especially convenient for me. The gardens and common spaces were very comfortable and inviting.”

Cleanliness:[10] • Staff:[10] • Location:[10]

  • Well sited for walking around Soho and shopping--clean, modern, well-trained and competent staff--expensive, but well worth it.
  • Nothing.

Cleanliness:[1] • Staff:[1] • Location:[1]

  • Nothing.
  • Room size, cleanliness, decor, staff attitude.

“Rooms are pitifully small, not particularly clean, and with minimum space to do anything but sleep. The staff's attitude matches the hotels quality, snooty and unhelpful. ”

Cleanliness:[10] • Staff:[10] • Location:[7]

  • It's character, it's cleanliness, and the excellent staff.
  • Can't really complain about it.

“The hotel's character is what impressed me and my wife. The staff was excellent, the room was perfect and extremely clean and neat. I have recommended it to my friends as the place to stay if you're going to a show in the Village.”

Cleanliness:[10] • Staff:[9] • Location:[10]

  • Sleek, elegant, cool, but in an understated way.
  • A concierge was diffident.

“Fabulous location, atmosphere, and very attentive service (except for a concierge). a wonderful base of operations to explore soho, village, tribeca, Chinatown, and little Italy”

Staff:[10] • Location:[9]

  • I left my engagement ring in the bathroom, which the staff kept safe for me to pick up the next day.
  • Room was small.

“Great location, service and chic look.”

Cleanliness:[8] • Staff:[10] • Location:[10]

  • Concierge printed boarding passes, 24 hour coffee, quiet, great location, fair $$.
  • No open lobby seating, limited dining, smallish rooms, tired carpeting, expensive mini bar.

“Deal Soto location for a long Manhattan weekend getaway. Just 15 minutes from midtown shopping via the ACE and 456 subways along Canal St. However smallish rooms may make it difficult for family stays. Hang out in the 2nd floor lobby bar to practice your Italian, Spanish and Japanese with the hotel's international guests colored Arman sunglasses a must. And bring your CDC's as all rooms feature Bose waveform CD players. Shop, party hard and wake up full of energy as the beds are second to none. Industrial iron decor fits in well with the Rand's location. 15 Minute walk from Century 21 shopping, Ground Zero and Chinatown. . . oh, and the 24-hour coffee is great.”

Cleanliness:[10] • Staff:[10] • Location:[10]

  • The price was fantastic given the time of year, cool location and mood.
  • The rooms were small, but efficient.

“the hotel offers great location in Soho, downtown, easy access to shops and restaurants and offers a cool vibe for those who want a New York experience.”

Cleanliness:[5] • Staff:[6] • Location:[6]

  • Conveniently located near subway, easy to get around NYC.
  • Would not stay at this hotel again. Concierge was out of a local map from Saturday to the following Friday.

“Conveniently located near subway. Accommodations not worth the hotel charge. Hotel restaurant had very poor service and mediocre food. Guest services and housekeeping were personable, competent and friendly.”

Cleanliness:[9] • Staff:[9] • Location:[10]

  • Location, location, location.
  • Lobby on 2nd floor not readily accessible without ordering food or drinks.

“Great location, incredibly nice staff. Only draw back was that the lobby on the second floor doubled as a restaurant and you couldn't go in and relax and watch the world go by. Wanted to sit and read one afternoon, and was told I had to go into the bar room, which was not as comfortable, and it was loud at 4 in the afternoon.”

  • Location, service, style.
  • Room size could be bigger.

“Perfect location near Chinatown, Sotho, Tribes, and convenient to Canal St. subway station. Service is great as it should be at a 4 star hotel. Nice property.”

Cleanliness:[9] • Staff:[6] • Location:[8]

  • The location was excellent for downtown shopping.
  • The hotel's industrial chic decor was grim.

“The staff was friendly, but clearly more used to dealing with downtown guests than uptown tourists like us. The location allowed us to drive into the city easily through the Holland, but also placed us above the tunnel entrance with a substantial amount of traffic noise. If you want to be in Soho or have business downtown, the location is unbeatable. However, we prefer a warmer environment with amenities & advice more geared toward shows, museums, and good cheap eats. We'll stay in midtown on our next visit to NYC.”

Cleanliness:[8] • Staff:[8] • Location:[10]

  • Modern, chic in great location.
  • The room is small.

“There aren't many high quality hotels in SOHO area. SOHO Grand is an excellent choice if you can get a good deal. This is my second time staying at Soho Grand and still like it very much. It has a modern down tempo style. There's a live DJ spinning at the lounge/restaurant in the evening. It's a great place to experience SOHO.”
