“Rooms are large for NYC and you have a kitchen. On the down-side there are mice. First night I picked up what I thought was a hot-pocket wrapper on the floor by my bed - it turned out to be a glue-trap with a dead & decaying mouse in it! They could not give us another room, but the night manager said they would probably comp that night for us - to my knowledge, they never did. We were very careful to put all food in the fridge and clean thoroughly every day. It was fine until our last night there when I was awoken by something jumping off of the headboard onto the floor where it continued to scurry about. This time we were given a new room. Never received any official compensation offer for even one night. This is a shame because it is a charming, albeit older hotel.”

“The toilet broke (and we had to fix it), the air conditioning wouldn't turn off, the hotel staff took over an hour to get us new pillows (due to allergy concerns), and both the main bed mattress and pullout sofa mattress did not have fitted sheets. That's gross enough in your own home. It New York City, the grossness factor grows exponentially. I've stayed at best Motel 6's and Super 8's, and Days Inns.”

“Great architectural value. The hotel is outdated though. Poor bedding and old carpet. Do appreciate the NY Times by my door each morning. Remote location a bit far to the East, yet would not mind to walk those extra blocks to the nearest subway from some real hip, neat modern surroundings.”

“Lovely period Deco hotel, perhaps a bit past it's former glory. Very convenient location. Quiet but just a few minutes' walk from it all.”

“Great location near the UN. Suite was large and had room for a small dining table and full working kitchen. Bathroom, carpet, furniture, bedding were all very dated and could use a facelift. Saw Derek Jeter on the way in to the hotel for some signing event!”

“Attractive art deco decor and architecture, great views from 26th floor restaurant, quite location are attractive features of this hotel which feels like a small boutique place though it's fairly large.”

“This was a good hotel for the price and especially finding it at the last minute - after landing at the airport in NY.

“I would recommend this hotel to anyone who is planning to stay for several days. The fully equipped kitchen was an added bonus, that had we been more prepared, would have saved us money on dining. The hotel was clean, comfortable and we felt safe.”

“The Beekman Hotel was in a nice location with a nice staff. The lobby area is small and worn. The hotel room was very tired looking. The carpet was a bit dirty and the couch had a slipcover on it making it look rather old. The bathroom is very tiny but functional. Overall, it served our purposes but we probably wouldn't return.

“The hotel is located next to the UN Headquarters and opposite of the German Embassy. By foot you can reach Times Square in 20 mins. Busses M27 and M50 can take you to Times Square, too! The room was clean and fitted with a kitchen, which may be good for longer stays or with children. The services were quite poor, as phone calls inside New York were charged and the hotel was not willing to arrange an airport shuttle due to bad experiences they made. So we ended up in a limousine on our way back home. Nice, but a bit more expensive than a shuttle. Overall the hotel was ideal for our stay and can be recommended for future stays.”

“Staff was extremely friendly, safe and quiet area. Easy to walk to downtown and hop on hop off bus next door at UN. When we arrived the assigned room was awful, tiny and not attractive. Went to front desk and they assigned a second similar room. Found out there are small, medium and larger one bedroom which the front desk didn't tell us. Requested medium size bedroom. It was great for me and my husband and a friend who stayed on pullout. Bathroom was old with lots of towels. Kitchen great, coffee/tea supplied. Microwave, toaster. Deli next door had everything we needed. Quick walk straight down 49th or 50th will take you to time square in 15 minutes. Easy. Hotel restaurant beautiful at night and fantastic food. Staff was very nice there.”

“This hotel was like staying in an elderly aunt's apartment. They obviously took over one bedroom apartments and converted them to suites but did very little else to them. The place felt old, and could use new carpets, curtains, furniture, and mattresses! The mattresses were hard as a rock. The location is not bad, a cross town bus took us to the theater district But, I would never stay there again.”

“Hotel was in a nice location. Staff was helpful with check in. Room was a mini suite and had a small kitchen which was useful. Just stayed one night, so I didn't check out restaurant or workout areas. Overall, a good experience. I would stay there again.”

“We stayed in a 1 bedroom suite. It was nice and very convenient especially with all the amenities provided. I recommend taking a cab from JFK to the hotel if you have a lot of luggage. My husband and I had taken the Subway and walked aprox 4 blocks with our carry-ons. It wasn't so bad, but a cab is definitely needed if your not into walking and hauling large pieces of luggage around partially crowded streets. The staff was excellent. My only concern was about the carpet in our suite. It was tattered and looked like it needed to be replaced. Everything else was great.” Amenities at Beekman Tower Hotel, New York City
